Bistro Freddie is a 45-cover restaurant in the heart of Shoreditch showcasing the best in British produce and French wine.

The menu is inspired by classic British and French gastronomy. Expect seasonal starters, bold mains and pies to share, as well as larger cuts of meat cooked over fire.

Curated by Alex Price, Bistro Freddie’s all-French wine list focusses on real wines that reflect a sense of place. The wine list takes a deep dive into all corners of France, exploring a variety of styles, regions and producers.

Had such an amazing dinner here - lovely romantic restaurant with windows thrown open on a summers Eve. Recommend sitting at chefs counter if you’re just two. Host was lovely and friendly and food was amazing, recommend the house sausage the flatbread the tomato’s with goats cheese and the bavette with fries and salad - can’t wait to come back

Food was great, but table was in the middle of the doorway and next to the toilets, which is just not okay. Toilets were filthy toilet paper everywhere, no wine coolers for the wine so your expensive bottles are getting warm very quickly. This was a big special occasion and we left feeling really disappointed we had such a poor experience knowing it’s not something we will get to celebrate again.

The food was good but overpriced for what it was. Bavette and snacks were by far the best but the skate wing was underseasoned. Desserts also tasty. Service however was disappointing - we were often left without drinks for a long time and the main took a long time to come as it took a long time for our starter plates to be cleared. Tried to get people’s attention a few times to order drinks but no luck. The sides came quite a while after our mains so they were a little cold by the time we managed to start eating. Our espresso’s also didn’t arrive and when we asked where they were, we had finished eating dessert and they still took a long time to come after we’d asked. Sadly, there was an influencers table in and it felt like all the service went into their table, they had drinks on arrival immediately and constant attention throughout and their mains arrived before ours even though they arrived after we had had our starters. All in all, just a little disappointing for a meal just shy of £200 - there was also only one of us drinking.

The food was great but the service was atrocious. Worst experience I’ve had in London. It took them 45 mins to bring out our bread and butter and they brought everything out at once. There wasn’t enough room on small table so we had to hold our salad plates in our hands for 5 mins before they helped us with spacing. Our waitress was incredibly rude and unhelpful. Never going back there.

Diabolically overpriced for what it is. Service is non-existent for that "automatic" 15% charge — waited 20 minutes to order, another 20 for a glass of water. The food is okay, nothing special. Won't be returning. Micheline-starred «Lyle's» (literally across the road) offers a significantly better value for the same price.

This place is wonderful, the ambiance is great with candle sticks on each table a very on brand french style bistro. Wine list is extensive in a good way on price variability and choice of french regions to choose from. The entree portions aren't huge but my suggestion is order a main that is exciting (the lamb was INCREDIBLE). and a side or two and you'll be thrilled. Oh and the service was great. Super friendly from the moment you walk in, perfectly attentive. Overall just great; highly recommend.

Go for the chicken pie which was touched by the hand of god. Good chips too. Oh and a good rose that wasn’t Chateau Ott prices. Gem of a place with laid back vibe.
