Bistro at The Boathouse is a small, family-run Bistro with Shaun and Gemma Dickens leading the wonderful team.

Our casual, understated environment allows you to enjoy our food however you wish; be it a quick bite on the run, a special occasion, a leisurely lunch or a coffee and croissant, we are here to make sure you enjoy everything we have to offer.
Making the most of our beautiful riverside setting, Shaun and Gemma produce food they love in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere – food to be enjoyed with family and friends alike.

Nice place, over priced for what was delivered. This is a constructive observation. Trying to hard for the venue, you will be surprised by the attraction of simple but nice. The menu is based on the chefs likes, simple example far to much Dill in the Mac. Would I or the other 5 return, venue and location YES at present with the current food it would be a no. Sorry about that, just being honest, would need to be incentivised to return. Warm Regards Steve

Inside is dark and a bit dated. Outside has great views of the river. Service was not very good with staff a bit stuck up! We were a party of 6 with one toddler and had a table if 5. Staff were a bit unpleasant making a point to tell us that we booked for 5 and now need 6 chairs! Could have easily offered us a high chair without the fuss! We expressed desire to sit outside as you can’t book a table there to be very rudely told that there are no tables ! Overall food was mediocre but the service wasn’t great so won’t be visiting again .. plenty of places around the river to explore

One of my favourite places. The setting is perfect and the food absolutely delicious. Staff very friendly and efficient. Really lovely place.

If you want good food with a fun vibe and the possibility of sitting out side on the stoop, than look no further than the boat house where you are made to feel welcomed and not rushed. Enjoy
