One of Houston’s original restaurants, Birraporetti’s opened in 1974 with the slogan “A great Italian Restaurant…A heck of an Irish bar.” For almost 40 years, Birraporetti’s has been the place to gather on a date, celebrating with friends and family, for happy hour or before or after the theater.
We are noted for our award-winning stone oven pizzas, pastas such as lobster ravioli, & delicious main courses including hand-carved beef filet & fresh seafood. And don't leave without trying our signature Frozen Bellini’s, Irish Coffee, chocolate chip cheesecake, tiramisu, or the berries & cream.

A wonderful restaurant--the best we experienced on this trip. It feels homey and was decorated to the nine's for Christmas. The service was fantastic, the food was amazing, the drinks were amazing, the staff was wonderful. If I lived in Houston, I'd be eating here all the time!

Celeste was a fabulous waitress. We enjoyed our evening complete with great food, great service and great ambiance. We will be back!

This restaurant is our "go to" for nights before the theater. We have gone for at least 6-7 years in a row now. We always enjoyed the Christmas decorations, the food and live music. This year was a big disappointment! No live music, Terrible service and the food was just so. We had very early reservations (5:00pm) so the place was not terrible busy, however, we sat for a half hour waiting to get a glass of wine! They need more servers! The place has gone down. So sad! We returned after the theater for dessert and coffee. The dessert was very good and presentation was lovely, however, the cappucino was NOT hot (barely warm). On a good note, the decorations are gorgeous and the atmosphere is lovely.

We had tickets for the Nutcracker and decided to make the evening nostalgic and have dinner at Birraporetti’s. We were pleasantly surprised. We hadn’t dined here in DECADES. I had the chicken piccata and my husband had the tenderloin medallions with shrimp. My chicken was so tender, flavorful and the sauce was lemony and rich. Perfect! My husband’s beef was fork tender, shrimp were excellent and the fettuccine was to die for. Our server was terrific. Polite, friendly and oh so prompt.

Extraordinarily bad service. I made a dinner reservation weeks ago for a special holiday occasion with my wife. Our bad experience started with the gentleman at the host stand who informed me they’re really busy and would have to seat us in “the basement”. (What???) He had a “don’t care” attitude that bordered on downright rudeness. We waited patiently for our waiter to acknowledge us and take our order. Our food arrived 40 minutes later — our entrees. Our appetizer and garlic bread were AWOL. Concerned now that we may be late for our show, I told the young lady that brought our entrees to forget the appetizer. Nevertheless, she hurriedly plopped it down 5 minutes later — so we just ate the shrimp cocktail for dessert. I had to flag down our waiter to fill empty water glasses. Our waiter seemed nice enough — he clearly just had never been trained. And to top it all off, I noticed my water glass had a chipped rim with a sharp edge (luckily I didn’t cut my lip open!) I was quite unhappy and a bit embarrassed that our special night got off to this kind of start. I’ve enjoyed dinner here previously, but the place quite different now — very poorly managed and destined to fail.

We eat here every year before the Christmas Carol play, usually goes well. This time I felt like we were hidden in a corner, almost forgotten. They didn’t have water glasses, so we had to wait like 15 minutes just for water. Couldn’t find anyone when we needed something, (drinks, appetizer plates, bill) and impossible to wave anyone down from where we were seated. Took longer than usual. Just overall not a relaxing experience. Disappointing because usually we have a very good experience here.
