Birdy’s Behind the Bower is a breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot perched in the back of the Framework building, serving Southern-inspired, locally-sourced American cuisine alongside a welcoming outdoor courtyard. We partner with Sugar Roots Farm in New Orleans to source fresh, local ingredients for dishes that range from comforting, house-made breakfast staples to lighter, health-conscious fare. The food took a while to come. No appetizer options. The waiter moved slowly as well. Fans for outdoor seating didn’t work well. Menu was small. It was really cute though.

Food was pretty good but the service was VERY slow. Our waitress disappeared after taking our order, came back about 15-20 minutes later with our drinks…and we didn’t see her again for 30-40 mins. Finally, someone stopped by (the manager?) to tell us our food was coming shortly. No one ever took another drink order or inquired if there was anything we needed or to give us an update. Disappointing because the atmosphere was lovely and the food was tasty.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have the best service. Had to ask other servers for refills, ice, whatever was needed. If you are going to sit outside, wait until winter. The fans don’t oscillate or do anything so you are basically eating outside in the humidity. The food was not warm when served and no flavorful. Also no salt and pepper on the table. Not sure if that was available or not.
