The Bird in Hand is a friendly independently owned and operated pub in the village of Mayford. Whether you are looking for a casual drink, formal get together, delicious Sunday roast or a beer in our lovely garden area we have you covered.
We offer a great selection of beers, wine & cocktails that can be paired with our fresh seasonal menus served in our formal dining area, casual bar area or large sunny garden. We are proud to have a passionate and dedicated team who are here to help you enjoy your experience with us.
We are dog friendly in our bar and garden areas.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children of any age may dine with us but must vacate the premises by 8pm.

this was a new menu from when I went last time. I really enjoyed the artichokes and ham with salad . The main was vegetable strudel and salad which was also very good. a little less salad would have been better but it was delicious. Best meal out I have had for ages and a good price too.

The food was outstanding and so was the service. However,it was a bad night as it clashed with the England vs Holland Euro football match. Therefore the noise from the bar area was quite loud. Fortunately our table was furthest from the bar and we were only disturbed from time to time. Certainly we're now aware of the potential problem and will check carefully when we next visit.

Food, service and menu all very good. Acoustics in the restaurant were awful, especially with a big table of customers in the middle, meaning that elderly members of our group struggled to hear.
