The Bird in Hand is a friendly independently owned and operated pub in the village of Mayford. Whether you are looking for a casual drink, formal get together, delicious Sunday roast or a beer in our lovely garden area we have you covered.
We offer a great selection of beers, wine & cocktails that can be paired with our fresh seasonal menus served in our formal dining area, casual bar area or large sunny garden. We are proud to have a passionate and dedicated team who are here to help you enjoy your experience with us.
We are dog friendly in our bar and garden areas.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children of any age may dine with us but must vacate the premises by 8pm.

Food, service and menu all very good. Acoustics in the restaurant were awful, especially with a big table of customers in the middle, meaning that elderly members of our group struggled to hear.

Visited to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff were fantastic, and the food was amazing. They even added a little message to our dessert, which was a lovely touch.

Excellent food and the waitresses (if I am allowed to call them that these days!) were excellent. We will be back for our next reunion (if not sooner!)

Fantastic pub in lovely setting. All staff were very welcoming and friendly. Good selection of beers and food was amazing.

Lovely venue to dine in, very good menu choice. 2 of us chose from specials board, and one of our party is gluten free. I was going to choose from the excellent regular menu but know I can get that next time, perfectly cooked and well served. All had desserts, Posset was popular with us. Excellent outing all round yes would definitely recommend. Drinks great. The Prosecco was lovely and Sauvignon Blanc vanished quickly (don’t look at me I was driving).

This is the second time my friends and I have met up to have lunch and both times it had been exceptional Great food and excellent service so we will be back again very soon
