I was very hopeful reading the menu and thinking about the descriptions of menu items. Ambiance was great and service, while not the best was acceptable. What I was most unhappy with was the quality of food. Even in Hawaii, at $86 for a ribeye, you would expect a great piece of steak. It arrived with a lot of gristle, overdone, and tough. Maybe 25% of the cut was good. This is at a 4 star resort and should be a great experience. Fairmont, you can do a lot better.

We are here a few nights ago and it was amazing. Everything was delicious and the service was the best. Tonight was good, but not great. My husband got the ribeye and asked for medium…it was very well done. The salt and pepper lobster came breaded in a batter that tasted pretty floury. The wagyu hot rock was still incredible, though…order it, you can thank me later ;)

The overall service was terrible along with the Rib Eye steak. Neither my wife or myself finished our meals and left over half the steak. An hour and a half later our table was cleaned off and we were never asked hiw the meal was or if anything was wrong. Sad sad foid and dining experience

We chose the traditional robatayaki experience for 2. It was brought to our table on a small grill. Everything was already cooked. I misunderstood I guess. I thought it was to be cooked table side. It included mahi mahi, beef, chicken, shrimp & mushrooms & asparagus. It came with white rice, but we upgraded to the crab fried rice. It was a lot of food! We easily could have done with one skewer of each to share instead of 2. Next time I would order the fried rice & 2 skewers & that would be enough for us. you could always order in shifts, depending on how hungry you were.Service was great & my favorite was the crab fried rice & the beef & shrimp skewers. We sat on the patio & they lit the torches & turned on the string lights. It was very pretty.

This place is AMAZING. Do yourself a favour and get the wagyu hot stone…it MELTS in your mouth. And the seafood…oh my goodness, the seafood! I’ll never forget it.

Great food. The restaurant is on the ground floor of the Fairmont Orchid in Mauna Lani. Outdoor or indoor setting is available, but indoor setting is NOT air-conditioned (it has large open doors to the outside setting but if is HOT if no significant breeze). The kitchen got one of our items wrong (gave us a different salad than we ordered), but the waiter comp'ed us the salad. Service was a little slow because the bartender was also our waiter and there were several large groups drinking that night. My wife and I had the Traditional Robatayaki Experience which was delicious!! It comes in two sizes (either 1 skewer or 2 skewers of each item) so we had the 2 skewer size which was more than enough for both of us (we also had a spicy tuna roll and the arugula salad). Definitely will go back again

We were seated as soon as we got there. Any questions were answered very knowledgeably. All the food was delicious. And the drinks and after dinner drinks were very good.

Beautiful evening sitting out on the patio to dine and watch the sunset with delicious cocktails, starters, entrees and dessert!! Excellent food and service!!

Had the traditional Robatayaki Experience with the lobster appetizer and upgraded to the pork fried rice. Amazing meal, with all sorts of sauce choices. Great service. Nice to try so many different foods, really fun.
