There are ninety-nine different ways to write “sushi” in the Japanese script of kanji. Each with its own unique interpretation and meaning. It was with great deliberation that our founder, Billy, chose 寿司 to best represent his personal interpretation of the word - Celebration of Fish!

That’s exactly how Billy feels about the art of making sushi and the atmosphere that surrounds it - it should be a celebration! Which is why Billy Sushi is more than just a restaurant, it is an experience for anyone who allows themselves to take part.

A three-ring performance of sorts - sushi bar, sake bar and dining room - brought to life by the performances of sushi chefs, bartenders and servers. And the Ring Master and your host, Billy.

D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Creative rolls like the uncultured swan with shrimp tempura and unagi sauce set the stage for a rollicking time at this always-busy North Loop hotspot. Chef and owner Enkhbileg “Billy” Tserenbat has been cooking in the Twin Cities for more than 20 years and often checks in on tables himself, so don't feel shy asking him for menu recs. Settle into one of several sleek tables, choose a drink from the extensive sake and whisky selection, and be prepared to have one of the best nights out.

Our server Sarah was delightful! The food was absolutely amazing as always. Whenever we stay in Minneapolis we have to make a stop into Billy Sushi!

Great atmosphere and amazing sushi! Tuna poke appetizer was delicious and we loved the NOLO YOLO Big Blue wave and Fast and Furious rolls. Always a hit!

We expected the food and experience to be pretty good and Billy's team delivered. Even better with valet parking.

Food is very good, but very overpriced. Server was doing his best, but the kitchen was very slow and messed up our order. We also had to wait 20 minutes for our table, despite a reservation. Not the experience I expect for the prices they charge. Very poor value.

What a fantastic evening! The food was delicious. Our server was outstanding (I am so mad at myself for not having her name handy for this review). It was a bit loud, so we definitely had to shout to each other at the beginning of evening (7:00pm on a Sunday) but it did quiet down after a while. We were celebrating a birthday and it was a hit! Thank you, we will be back!!!!
