    We’ve been to various bills before but this was a huge disappointment. The staff were miserable, unfriendly and seemingly unwilling to do anything outside of just delivering your meal. We asked for a few extras, sauces etc, and for beans that were missing from our son’s meal, we were told after 20 minutes that these were on their way. Sauce delivered when our meal was finished and with no apologies. We won’t be returning!

    Did not enjoy having to order via an app. Also was charged for service which I did not see an option to decline this. Drinks arrived after food. Food was good, drink average

    We used to love this restaurant & the friendly waitresses but on this visit the place seemed dead. The menu change is not good at all. Instead of waitress service you now after to order via the app which may prove difficult for anyone not good with tech or without a smart phone! The icing on the cake was not recording we had attended on the Open Table app so we appeared as a no show. Thankfully Open Table sorted this out for us as we had the receipt 0n top of it all they add 12.5% service charge for placing your own order! This used to be a great, busy vibrant restaurant but not any more - it’s impersonal & boring. We were very disappointed!!

    Service goes from bad to worse at this restaurant. You now have the choice of ordering via QR code or via a human and the only reason for this choice seems to be to do away with the humans who seemingly aren’t trained at all. Restaurant had 3 tables to serve but food was late and not what we ordered. No one was around to ask for anything or even the bill. The bill was discounted but to be honest I’d happily pay full price and a tip for good service. When we left 2 of the 5 front of house staff were sitting outside smoking. Guess that about sums up Bills in St Albans.

    The fish pie is good but the price is high and the linguini even higher. Three main dishes with two Peronis cost £68 with 12 1/2 % service charge included. We may not eat here again.

    Excellent visit for Mother’s Day, always enjoy it, but the service was exceptionally good this time.
