We’ve dined here several times before. Everything was unquestionably subpar Christmas Eve evening. Our experience started well with our appetizers. Unfortunately, we had a 75 minute wait between the appetizers and the main course. When it finally arrived, my pappardelle was very overcooked and room temperature. I’ve had this dish before and really liked it. Others had lobster ravioli and was just satisfactory. With so many very good restaurants opening in Sarasota I’m reluctant to return and be disappointed again.

A deeply disappointing experience: My family and I chose this restaurant for our Christmas Eve dinner. The lively atmosphere, while filled with energy and live music, was marred by the overwhelming noise. Upon sitting, a member of the waitstaff brought water but never took our order. Minutes later, another waiter arrived, only to turn away and attend to a nearby table. This back-and-forth happened several times, culminating in an argument between two waiters over who had claimed the table first. Eventually, we placed our order. When the wine was presented for tasting, the waiter, noticing we were a family, said, “Y’all are family, I’m not gonna pour and leave it here!”—a gesture I’d never encountered before. The *Feast of the Seven Fishes* was a disaster. The octopus salad was slimy, the shrimp cocktail had frozen shrimp, and the sardines smelled spoiled. For the mains, the lasagna was soggy, the mussels and clams in the gratin undercooked, the shrimp scampi flavorless, and the risotto was crunchy. My father sent the lasagna back, but the waiter insisted it was "supposed to be that soggy." The rest of the dishes were barely touched. When dessert was offered, I declined, stating I was unhappy with the meal. The waiter apologized again and removed the lasagna from the bill. The manager later approached, offering free limoncello and desserts. We accepted the limoncello but declined dessert. A disappointing evening overall, one that did not live up to the festive occasion we had hoped for.

We dined on Christmas Eve. The food was very good but I was disappointed to find out there was a limited menu and what I had hoped to eat, wasn’t available. My suggestion in the future is to clearly state when there is a limited menu. I specifically called in advance and asked if there was a different menu for holidays and was told it was the regular menu. Other than that the food and service was very good and the entertainment was wonderful.

The food, service and the restaurant itself all made for a great night out! Anthony was our server and was solicitous without being overbearing in his care for us. He is a good addition to the waitstaff. All in all, we had a great time! We will be back!
