This beautiful, historic room - located on the first floor of our York tea room - is steeped in history and provides the perfect setting for our most exquisite afternoon tea. Perfect for a special occasion. Glad for the quiet reprieve from the loud streets, and a gluten free menu. All around lovely!

I recently visited the Belmont Room in York with my grandchildren and daughter. My granddaughter is coeliac and my grandson dislikes cheese. Our requirements were catered for in a most professional way. The staff were extremely welcoming and informative, our server Charlotte and Eva were wonderful, so cheerful and helpful. The food was delicious and there are lots of different teas to chose from. The room is so elegant and the live pianist is a real treat. I would highly recommend the Belmont Room for a delightful afternoon tea.

Betty’s Afternoon Tea in the Belmont Room was a truly wonderful experience. Service was impeccable and the food divine. We were there for a birthday celebration and they surprised the birthday girl with a petite four with a lighted birthday candle.

It was a lovely experience, would recommend. There is some room for improvement. Our booking was at 4.15pm and the live pianist packed up for the day shortly after we arrived which was a shame. Service got our drinks order wrong. Whilst the adults got free refills on the tea, the children didn't get free apple juice refills which seemed a bit unfair. That said, it was a lovely experience and they brought me a little cake with a candle in for my birthday which was a great touch.
