This beautiful, historic room - located on the first floor of our York tea room - is steeped in history and provides the perfect setting for our most exquisite afternoon tea. Beautiful surroundings, delicious food and wonderful service. It was a very special experience having a festive afternoon tea with my mum in the Belmont Rooms.

Loverly place and food , service was personal and polite , definitely worth going , cost wise I think it’s a bit pricey if it is unlimited sandwiches so if you can eat you’ll get your money’s worth but overall the wife and myself really enjoyed it

Booked Afternoon Tea a few months ago and advises at the time that we were a group of vegetarians so surprised and disappointed to be told they'd ran out of the chickpea sandwich and we could double up.on egg or cheese sandwiches. Advised we were disappointed and then were told they could indeed make up the chickpea ingredients. All 4.of us love chickpeas but not Betty's sandwich filler. We all.left it as it was essentially tinned chickpeas mixed with we think cumin and really hard bits of aubergine. It was really wasn't pleasant at all. We were so looking forward to this treat 6 x £50 per head, so spending £300 on this treat was hugely disappointing. The actual tea and coffee was lovely but other than that, it was an egg and cheese finger sandwich with a few extra bits which were nice but not as special as I'd hoped it would be. Our waitress was ever so nice but the atmosphere wasn't what we'd hoped and the staff were incredibly busy. Thought £50 per head was hugely overpriced .

What a special treat it was to come to York and have such a wonderful afternoon tea with my best friend. The service was amazing and the atmosphere made even more special by the pianist. We had the standard afternoon tea with Prosecco and it was delicious.

We had the most amazing Prosecco afternoon tea, the whole experience was fabulous! From the moment we arrived everything was absolutely perfect…such a special experience including a pianist playing beautiful background music. The food was delicious and the cakes that we hadn’t managed to eat were boxed up for us to take away.

The overall experience was very good. Although booking was for 3pm , sat waiting and had to go ask staff if we was going to be served after 20 minutes wait , then they couldn’t do enough for us .

Lovely dining experience in the Belmont room with a lovely atmosphere and perfect service. The food let it down unfortunately. The appetisers were lovely, the sandwiches were unlimited but the egg rolls had barely any filling, the ham was lovely but the miniature fingers of dry bread they came in let it down. The chicken did not look appetising looked more like tune and although sounded lovely were not so extras were not ordered. The scones are tiny, 2 standard but only 1 (tiny) cranberry to share between 2?? The 3 tiny festive cakes on top were nothing great. Although the dining experience, ambience and service was perfect, in our opinion, the food did not meet our expectations. The food was much better last time we attended .
