This beautiful, historic room - located on the first floor of our York tea room - is steeped in history and provides the perfect setting for our most exquisite afternoon tea. You'll be serenaded by our pianist as you enjoy a selection of savouries, indulgent sandwiches, specially selected teas and irresistible dainty cakes and scones.     took my mum for her 70th birthday for afternoon tea. Wonderful experience, lovely food, exceptional service. Beautiful background live piano music. Perfect experience.

    The best afternoon tea I have ever experienced. Absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient too. I can’t wait to come again one day.

    We come to Betty’s three to four times a year but it was the first time we had booked for Afternoon Tea in the Belmont Room, The service and food were to their usual high standard. Sandwich and tea refills were included in the price if you could manage to eat any more! It was lovely to have a pianist and to not have to queue. We had missed hearing the piano which used to be downstairs. It was quite expensive but to be expected for the experience and to spend on a special occasion. They even brought out one of their fondant fancies with a candle in it as a birthday surprise treat.

    Was left waiting for 15 mins with no drinks when we only had the table for 1.5 hrs. Staff not so attentive. Foot nice and plenty of SW’s, scones were far too small. To say the whole thing was £50 + per head.

    There was 10 in our party when we visited The Belmont Room for a booked afternoon tea. At first I thought £50 was quite expensive but it was well worth it- after we finished our sandwiches we were offered extra and the hot drinks were unlimited. We were looked after by Claire and she was very attentive and friendly- she was lovely and made the experience enjoyable, nothing was a problem or a bother :-)

    We had a really enjoyable afternoon tea celebrating my husbands birthday . The service was first class and the pianist superb !

    Simply wonderful; we booked the Belmont room for afternoon tea. Pianist playing in the background of an art deco feel room. The design was based on the Queen Mary from 1936. The food was just as expected, elegant and delicious. We stared with a glass of fizz and then some teas from Ceylon Saphire to Gambian and Himalayan mountains. Highly recommend and enjoy!
