This beautiful, historic room - located on the first floor of our York tea room - is steeped in history and provides the perfect setting for our most exquisite afternoon tea. You'll be serenaded by our pianist as you enjoy a selection of savouries, indulgent sandwiches, specially selected teas and irresistible dainty cakes and scones.     We had a really enjoyable afternoon tea celebrating my husbands birthday . The service was first class and the pianist superb !

    Simply wonderful; we booked the Belmont room for afternoon tea. Pianist playing in the background of an art deco feel room. The design was based on the Queen Mary from 1936. The food was just as expected, elegant and delicious. We stared with a glass of fizz and then some teas from Ceylon Saphire to Gambian and Himalayan mountains. Highly recommend and enjoy!

    Had some confusion about entry as my booking said Betty’s Tea Rooms which we read above the main entrance. We were told to go round the corner but we only saw a sign saying The Belmont Rooms so we weren’t sure if this was the correct entrance. Our booking was for 12:15 but a note said the rooms didn’t open until 12:45 so that further confused us. Please could you ensure your on line booking confirmation paperwork states The Belmont Rooms and not just the genetic name Betty’s Tea Rooms. A small matter I know but it did create some confusion particularly as the notice appeared to state the rooms weren’t apparently open. Apart from that, our afternoon tea experience was simply stunning. The service was equally pleasant, welcoming all adding to my wife’s birthday treat. Thank You.

    First time visit to any Betty’s for afternoon tea. The service and food was exceptional. Absolutely worth a pleasant and relaxing afternoon with a spouse or group of friends.

    We really enjoyed our high tea with our friends in Betty's. The foods, service and music were all brilliant. We will be back.

    Wonderful experience. We reserved the afternoon tea in advance which is held on the second floor in an elegant, quiet setting. No waiting in a queue for the ground floor tea room. There is a piano player whose music creates a soothing and comfortable setting. Everything about the experience was very enjoyable with great service from everyone from beginning to end.

    Gorgeous location and facility with lovely entertainment in the form of piano player. Server (Claire) was lovely and knowledgeable on the teas available. The food was delicious and, though we were offered additional food if required, it wasn’t needed as the portion sizes were perfect. Could hear a street busker part way through playing the trumpet, which did change the vibe.

    From the moment I booked online to actually arriving at Betty's customer service could not have been more helpful. I ordered a celebration cake to be placed on the table for arrival just as I had envisaged it was there. Fussy eaters were catered for without a fuss. It would not have been better for our family gathering. And the pianist just made it all the more special. Thank you Betty's 😊
