This beautiful, historic room - located on the first floor of our York tea room - is steeped in history and provides the perfect setting for our most exquisite afternoon tea. You'll be serenaded by our pianist as you enjoy a selection of savouries, indulgent sandwiches, specially selected teas and irresistible dainty cakes and scones.     My sister and I booked this as a treat as we were in York for. Couple of days and it doesn’t disappoint. I would definitely recommend booking otherwise you will have to queue. It’s a lovely place with a 20s feel. We were made to fell welcome by all of the staff and they were really friendly. We had the festive tea which was lovely. I would highly recommend.

    We have had a truly delightful afternoon tea at Betty’s in York today. The staff were very informative and pleasant. The music from the pianist was lovely too.

    A lovely place to visit in York as it is renowned for the afternoon tea. The friendly staff and their attention was extra special and we enjoyed the food that was served and it was scrumptious.

    This was an exceptional experience. The staff were attentive but not obtrusive, the food was fabulous, the setting was relaxed and the added bonus of complimentary birthday fondant cake and a 'Happy Birthday' from the pianist made a wonderful visit even nicer. Thank you in particular to Anne.

    Wonderful experience with excellent service. Food was amazing and the atmosphere was so lovely, calm and comfy with the piano playing. Cannot commend Anne, who served us enough. So attentive and helpful. She was amazing and just made us feel special

    Food is overpriced for what you get. But they will give you extra sandwiches if you ask, but sandwiches did not hit the spot for me

    Once again an absolutely brilliant afternoon tea experience at Betty's. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive, and the quality of the food was out of this world. Always have an excellent experience.
