This beautiful, historic room - located on the first floor of our York tea room - is steeped in history and provides the perfect setting for our most exquisite afternoon tea.     Wonderful experience. We reserved the afternoon tea in advance which is held on the second floor in an elegant, quiet setting. No waiting in a queue for the ground floor tea room. There is a piano player whose music creates a soothing and comfortable setting. Everything about the experience was very enjoyable with great service from everyone from beginning to end.

    Gorgeous location and facility with lovely entertainment in the form of piano player. Server (Claire) was lovely and knowledgeable on the teas available. The food was delicious and, though we were offered additional food if required, it wasn’t needed as the portion sizes were perfect. Could hear a street busker part way through playing the trumpet, which did change the vibe.

    From the moment I booked online to actually arriving at Betty's customer service could not have been more helpful. I ordered a celebration cake to be placed on the table for arrival just as I had envisaged it was there. Fussy eaters were catered for without a fuss. It would not have been better for our family gathering. And the pianist just made it all the more special. Thank you Betty's 😊

    From beginning to end the service... food ....atmosphere was wonderful ... the staff could not do enough for us and ensured we had the best time ... .. so if you like great service and wonderful food ...Betty's is certainly the place to go

    We were celebrating a 40th birthday. The service was impeccable as was the afternoon tea. It really was a superb experience and we would certainly recommend it.

    Fabulous experience, attentive but not too intrusive, Anne was wonderful and looked after us very well. Food was lovely and plentiful. A very pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

    Service was amazing from start to finish, staff were attentive without being intrusive. The afternoon tea was delicious, with plenty of tea available.

    A bit pricey but well worth it as a treat! Extra savoury’s offered which was good. Plenty of different teas which are unlimited. Setting very nice with Piano playing in the background
