Bettys is famous for afternoon tea, and if you want to experience the finest we offer, book your table in the Belmont Room, York. This beautiful, historic room - located on the first floor of our York tea room - is steeped in history and provides the perfect setting for our most exquisite afternoon tea. You'll be serenaded by our pianist as you enjoy a selection of savouries, indulgent sandwiches, specially selected teas and irresistible dainty cakes and scones.     Once again an absolutely brilliant afternoon tea experience at Betty's. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive, and the quality of the food was out of this world. Always have an excellent experience.

    Delightful afternoon tea, with delicious food and fantastic service. Incredibly knowledgeable team, and piano was a beautiful addition 💜 It’s also very thoughtful that they replenish as many tea and sandwiches as desired, and provide pack up for anything you don’t have. Catering wonderfully to everyone. Thank you! We loved being in the Belmont room, but seen a few comments around pricing - just make sure you check which one you are going for as they have a few different options and it’s easy to mix up 🙏

    I booked this as a treat as part of a birthday celebration. Unfortunately the service really let the experience down. Aside from taking our order and then payment we had no further engagement from staff unless prompted. This was in contrast to the experiences of other tables. We felt ignored and it ruined what should have been a nice treat. I have been to Betty’s on several occasions previously, purchased gift vouchers for friends and family as well as ordered items online. This was a very disappointing experience and one which would make me hesitant to return or recommend.

    Fantastic food, however, my 24 year old daughter was refused an alcoholic drink due to not having ID. She was viably upset and after speaking to two managers they still refused. Upon booking, there was nothing to say this was needed, and especially after travelling 3 hours for my special birthday, it was disappointing. After showing her car insurance with her date of birth on it as this was all she had, she was still not allowed. We also had to ask for more tea, where other tables had been offered, and then had to ask another twice for it as it had still not been brought over after nearly 30 minutes.

    Fabulous food, very attentive waitress. Excellent service and the dietary needs of all our party were well catered for. Can't wait for our next visit.

    Great food tea coffee was lovely good service very attentive lovely looking room Very good experience not quite sure £50 a head is value but we did enjoy it beer expensive £7 for a bottle
