This beautiful, historic room - located on the first floor of our York tea room - is steeped in history and provides the perfect setting for our most exquisite afternoon tea. You'll be serenaded by our pianist as you enjoy a selection of savouries, indulgent sandwiches, specially selected teas and irresistible dainty cakes and scones.     Relaxing environment with live music performance. You will be guaranteed to have a table on the first floor if you make a reservation, which helps you to skip the long queue.

    Betty's is one of the absolute best afternoon teas in the UK. Its best to book in the Belmont room. It's very posh, food is delicious, ambiance is outstanding. Noise was a good level that you can have a conversation, and no one was playing videos on their phone with no headphones.

    It really could do with some air conditioning as in the summer months it’s very hot in the tea room. Food was lovely but at £50 for afternoon tea, would be good to have more selections of cakes. Tea is wonderful & service is exceptional

    Sandwiches were lovely. Strawberry scones not ideal. A better selection of cakes required like a lemon tart and a delicious biscuit

    Highly recommend to book a table rather than wait outside as the queues can be long. When you book a table it's a separate entrance and the room is on the 1st floor. The staff were informative and friendly and catered for those with dietary requirements. Would come here again.

    From walking into the room where the glistening grand piano was beautifully played, into the sparkling pink champagne, the amazing canapés and the delicious afternoon tea. I was delightfully taken back in time.

    Wonderful experience.. Friendly waiting staff and lovely food. Definitely worth a visit. For a special treat you cannot beat it.

    My favourite place for afternoon tea in England, a lovely cosy experience with amazing food, a pianist and a wonderful atmosphere. Surpasses Fortnum & Mason by far!
