Truly a magical experience. From the minute you walk up the steps into a stunning room you are swept back in time, nothing is too much trouble for the team. The food is second to none. I would recommend without exception to everyone ❤️

Booked ahead for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary so skipped the long queue. Greeted warmly and coats were taken and put in the cloakroom. No lift but hubby carried the pram up so it was not an issue. One kind staff member even held baby for me as I got settled. We were served by Abigail who was very friendly and courteous. The menu was shown and explained clearly. Food arrived quickly, and tea was served. Extra sandwiches and more tea were complimentary so that was a bonus as I am savoury person. Food was exquisite. We were surprised at the end with some chocolates complimentary from Bettys as it was our anniversary. That was a lovely touch. Clean toilets and real flowers on the table. There was a live pianist playing beautifully and then swapped with another lady pianist who played just as lovely. We then visited the shop downstairs and bought a variety of teas and coffees. Absolutely had a ball at Bettys- our new favourite tea shop. We cannot wait to visit again.

To say i was disappointed would be a understatement. I booked afternoon tea for my partner’s 40th as a surprise whilst in harrogate for the day. We were taken to our table & introduced to our waiter, explained what was on the menu, encouraged to try as many teas as we liked, that we could have whatever sandwiches we wanted from the list provided. 15 minutes later we receive 2 pots of english tea with our sandwiches, cakes & scones. After 1 hour… no more tea & no signs of our waiter i decided to ask the lady if our waiter had gone home to be told yes !!! I explained we’ve been there a hour with very little service & could we had more tea. We are then told “ yes but service finishes in 15 minutes”. We received 2 more small teapots of tea. Everyone around us were getting small cakes & the pianist playing happy birthday at individual tables, id noted it to Betty tearoom that we were coming for my partners 40th & asked that he receive a small cake etc, also asking our waiter… we received nothing!!! We quickly left as we felt the afternoon had been spoilt & deflated at the service we received. I then got up from our table to go pay the bill… I was told that there was a note on the screen that it was a special birthday & did we receive the birthday cake to answer No, the waiter looked horrified quickly ran out the back & came back with a small cake in a box handed to my partner in a carrier bag. Overpriced, overrated & overall very poor experience.

Never been to Bettys and we booked it for our anniversary. We both loved the whole experience and the service from Ann was outstanding we have decided to rebook and visit the York one ❤️

Fantastic bookable afternoon tea, plenty of good food, special treat for daughters 18th, made even more special when the pianist played happy birthday and came out with a cake!

Disappointed with our visit to Betty's and certainly not worth the money. Which was a real shame as it was a treat for my daughter who had never been before.

Bettys tea rooms Harrogate was a wonderful experience in the upstairs dining room, with someone playing the grand piano. Service, attention to detail, white table cloths, solid silverware teapots and an excellent dainty afternoon tea. I am coeliac and they created exactly the same food for me. A real quality treat, like going back in time in the best way.

The best afternoon tea we have ever eaten, everything was delicious, extra sandwiches were consumed x our waiter was very attentive, refreshed our teapots and checked that everything was good! Husband had a little fondant fancy with a candle in while the pianist played happy birthday 🎂, music through out the time we were there was very soothing and tuneful, I’m pretty sure we will be going again x

Amazing champagne afternoon tea in the Imperial room, Harrogate. Staff were friendly and professional. The live pianist was very good and it added to the ambience. The food was perfect.
