These beautiful, historic rooms - located on the first floor of our Harrogate tea room- are steeped in history and provide the perfect setting for our most exquisite afternoon tea.

You'll be serenaded by our pianist as you enjoy a lavish selection of dainty sandwiches, specially selected teas and irresistible miniature cakes and scones.

Betty's has a huge reputation and afternoon tea is very expensive - twice as expensive as recent teas we've enjoyed - so our expectations were high - possibly too high ? There was a huge choice of teas and we enjoyed our drinks very much. The tea was beautifully presented on spotless linen and was very attractively presented and our waiter was charming and attentive. I would have expected a choice of sandwich , but we were invited to order extra portions which was nice. I thought that the scones were small and I was very disappointed to find that the jam was apparently from a commercial source - our local cafe in Saddleworth offers delicious home made raspberry jam for instance. As for the cake selection, I would have much preferred traditional English sponges and fruitcake etc rather than the small iced 'confections' that appeared which were more like sweets than cake. If we had been given this tea elsewhere , we would have been pleased, but our high (perhaps too high) expectation of Bettys left us a little underwhelmed and £150 worse off! The ambience , piano playing and decor were excellent

Lovely afternoon tea, piano player gently stroking the keys while enjoying the view from the upstairs window. Quite a special experience.

Everything was great. I am not a tea drinker but really enjoyed the variety. The food was great and the service was excellent.

Certainly not worth the price. Had some gift vouchers which were out of date which was disappointing

Venue was perfect, but for a set price would have expected more choice with regard food, wife loved the food but I unfortunately did not

Wonderful experience, fabulous food, amazing atmosphere and a team of great people. Especially the 2x James'. Highly recommend for all ages. Wether you are celebrating an occasion or just treating yourself you won't be disappointed.

A fantastic experience and food made even better by James who made us both feel extra special. This has been on my wives to do list for years and was well worth it

We went to Betty’s in Harrogate 2 years ago and had a thoroughly enjoyable time 2 years later… sandwich offering was poor, under filled rolls rather than finger sandwiches - where was the salmon? No one approached us to top up offering. Cake offering was meh. Tea offering nothing like 2 years ago - v disappointed & rather than being offered more tea we had to grab someone’s attention to request it, not an easy feat. We won’t be going again. Inattentive staff & to boot we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with our son who’s at uni in Leeds, don’t see him often - a let down
