"Betts" is a tribute to Elizabeth Schofield, wife of Captain Levi Schofield and our namesake. The space is cozy yet airy and feels like a mix between a restaurant and a very cool home that you’d happily want to reside in all day. Betts is inspired by American dishes we all know and love but reinvented with a thoughtful approach. The menu focuses on freshness, quality and whole foods put out from a predominantly scratch kitchen. It's easy to eat healthy here and it's just as easy to indulge- the menu has something for everyone.

Food is wonderful… service was awful. Waitress was great but took an hour plus to get our food and the hostess made us wait to sit down even though they had open tables.

Sunday Brunch at Betts before the Browns game was our best choice of the day! Our server Quinn was super friendly and engaging. The restaurant crowd was lively but not jam-packed and the manager gave us a nice seat by the window. We got served a lot quicker than anticipated so that's always a bonus! Coffee was great and freshly brewed. I chose the Bodega Sammie which was filling but not overly heavy. The boursin cheese, quite honestly, elevates the sandwich! My husband had the Betts breakfast (with extra eggs) and he even had trouble finishing it. Topped off our visit with an Angel's Envy and a most delicious espresso martini. Overall, a tad expensive for what we ate, however, it's average for a downtown location (especially with drinks added) and still cheaper than eating at Browns stadium. We'll be back!

This place is extremely small. The workers were nice. Out of the two meals we had, one was extremely good

I am not happy that you did not enjoy yourself at Betts to the standard that we expect, with the one exception being service, I do apologize that we did not deserve to rate higher. Amazing experience on Labor Day for my boyfriend’s birthday! Hot honey chicken sandwich is to die for! Grilled cheese and soup when it’s brisk weather YUM! Delicious all around! Host was wonderful and server even more fantastic! Best brunch I’ve had downtown! Sat on the patio with my pup she got some grilled chicken too! 5 stars! Music playing outside coming from the 9 and it was great!

We had an awesome server, the appetizer was good, the food took 30 minutes to come out and wasn’t even hot, and the restaurant was empty. I was very disappointed because we’ve been coming here since they opened. Drinks super overpriced! Never heard of 2 martinis being $42?? Definitely won’t be back

Food was good, portion sizes were large. Service was terrible. We waited 20plus minutes for the waiter to take our drink order. We actually had to ask the hostess to look for our waiter. He took both drink and food at same time. Waited about 10 plus minutes for drinks.. bar was not busy. Our food arrived 5 minutes after the cocktails. We made a 5:45 reservation and almost missed our 7pm showtime at playhouse.. and there were maybe 5 takes full.

Bett's sausage and biscuits bowl and scrambled egg bowl were both excellent. Service was energetic and prompt. Good drinks.

UPDATE to my original review: Although I and my party were still disappointed about some of our dining experience, the food was good, no question. And the location is excellent. What is most important to me, though, is the immediate and sincere outreach from management when I voiced my issues in my original review, and their clear desire to undo my unhappiness -- that's the spirit of Cleveland I experienced during my visit there for a conference. Sadly my schedule did not allow a second visit to Betts this time but they are back on my list for the future.
