Our focus is on delivering delicious local Northumbrian produce in a warm and welcoming environment. Our day menu (which operates on a walk-in basis only) is full of local favourites. Whether you are looking for a hearty breakfast, a light lunch or just some delicious coffee and cake we have something for everyone.

Transitioning into our evening bistro service from 5.30pm onwards, we present a refined yet flavourful menu. Our chefs select trusted local suppliers renowned for procuring the finest quality ingredients, which they craft into irresistible dishes for your enjoyment. Complemented by an extensive wine selection, our offerings provide the ideal blend for a laid-back evening of exquisite dining.

Situated in the heart of Warkworth and only a stone’s through from the village’s historic castle, we are ideally located for people’s exploring Warkworth and beyond.

Fantastic food and service, first time and not disappointed. A quality restaurant is what Warkworth has needed for some time and this fits the bill

Really delicious food very well presented along with very good, friendly service. We are only in the area for a few more days but definitely hoping for a return evening visit (Bertram’s breakfast is always a must do on our annual holiday calendar)!

We have always enjoyed breakfast at Bertram’s so thought we would try the new Bistro dining; only to be disappointed. Menu looked very appetising but the food delivered was not a good reflection. Skimpy scallops and dry overcooked pork belly was not a great start and most of the veg presented for the mains was again overcooked. Pretty small portions. Overall pretty expensive for what we had. Hopefully this is just a start up glitch and they can deliver the same quality offered across their other menus.

We hesitated to book a table after website stated restaurant was fully booked but tables were still available in bar. I think my wife expected to be sitting amongst groups of men playing dominoes! The decision was taken give it a try and when we arrived at 5.30pm we knew we had made the right decision. There was very little difference between the bar area and restaurant. The bar was more the cocktail variety without sawdust on floor. The interior decor was excellent and it was evident much thought had gone into it. The staff were first class and the young woman who served us had a friendly demeanour and was able to assist us in making the right choice. My wife had the feathered blade of beef and I had the roe deer. Both meals were excellent. As for noise levels as we had arrived at the restaurant early there were very few fellow diners so I’m unable to advise what sounds levels might be like later in the evening.
