Our focus is on delivering delicious local Northumbrian produce in a warm and welcoming environment. Our day menu (which operates on a walk-in basis only) is full of local favourites. Whether you are looking for a hearty breakfast, a light lunch or just some delicious coffee and cake we have something for everyone.

Transitioning into our evening bistro service from 5.30pm onwards, we present a refined yet flavourful menu. Our chefs select trusted local suppliers renowned for procuring the finest quality ingredients, which they craft into irresistible dishes for your enjoyment. Complemented by an extensive wine selection, our offerings provide the ideal blend for a laid-back evening of exquisite dining.

Excellent service at all times. The prices Are very good and the course sizes are generous. I was disappointed with the crepe sussette which I felt was cold and needed more brandy to give it a kick. That said it was tasty and I ate it all! Overall a very pleasant experience.

This was our fifth visit in the last two months, and while previous visits were great, last night was a disappointment. The table water was warm, and the cheese soufflé was cold, as was the case for a neighboring table. The staff were inattentive and did not acknowledge the quality of the food. Overall, it was poor value for money. It was ‘amateur’ What’s happened?

Let me first say that this WOULD have been a 5* review if I hadn’t had a sweet - as the starter and main course were exceptional. However, I thought that I must have the profiteroles for a sweet as it said it came with vanilla ice cream and HOT chocolate sauce, my favourite. However not only were the profiteroles tough, but there was NO ice cream and the chocolate sauce was NOT hot!! So sadly the meal was partly ruined as a result - but still can’t fault the two previous courses to be fair.

Food and service were both exceptional , excellent , no complaints at all , Our chairs could have been more comfortable but certainly wouldn’t stop us returning

Lovely food but rather expensive and there was.not a lot choice as several dishes were unavailable.
