Bernie’s Kitchen | Bar| Cinema is a boutique theatre experience in downtown Kelowna, BC. Our screen plays a mix of retro and new(ish)-release films, and yes, you can enjoy them with some top-notch food and drink!

We’re excited to bring the movies back to Bernard Ave., but we also love a great meal. The first floor and mezzanine at Bernie’s are where you’ll find artisan cocktails, one-of-a-kind wines, local craft beer, and truly tasty dishes. Our dinner menu is a uniquely Justin Best creation, with influences from all over the Spanish diaspora and beyond.

Head up one more flight of stairs from the restaurant to find a cinema like no other. Comfortable and stylish seating, food and beverage options outside the concession norm (don’t worry, we’ve got the classics too), and of course, motion pictures that are sure to entertain!

We reserved this for our 20th anniversary dinner, unfortunately it was incredibly busy on a Wednesday night and we were sat at a tiny table for two, barely big enough for the menus, aside from glasses for water, drinks, candles. It was also situated in the middle of the isle to the kitchen and bathrooms, so there was a constant stream of staff and patrons whisking by the table. The menus kept getting knocked off the table and the drinks almost spilled a few times. These tiny tables have to go. Maybe they are good for a coffee somewhere, not a nice ding place like this. It was so uncomfortable that we just had an appetizer and drink & left to go elsewhere for our dinner. Good food, nice place, but they are trying to pack too many people into a place that has plenty of other seating upstairs.

Great food!! A variety of choices for any food preference. I liked the 3- course dinner choices. Friendly and attentive staff. I would surely return.

We had a lovely dinner out at Bernie’s! We enjoyed the cocktail hour drink specials, and ordered a variety of entrees and a couple starters. Their calamari is ok, it could have been a little crisper but the side sauces were good. We ordered Panchetta Roast and Gnocchi with Vodka cream sauce. Both dishes were outstanding! Would recommend! Our server Kenya was friendly and attentive and we loved the ambiance. We will definitely return for the dinner and show.

This is the 1st average experience that we have had at Bernie’s. It was a Valentines dinner special. The meal sounded and looked delicious…. The dinner was not cheap. Unfortunately, the meal itself arrived at the table…. Warm at best. I think this may have put me off…. As I just didn’t think the value for the meal was there, which was very disappointing. The multiple staff were amazing as usual. In the end, I’d still recommend this restaurant and am hoping this Valentine’s dinner was just an anomaly.

Great vibe, very quick and kind service, off menu cocktails not always the most consistent but that seems valid. A lot more seating options than expected, and a great location.

It’s a lovely place to eat. However although the food was tasty and flavorful, it was lukewarm when it came to the table. Had the food been hot I’d given it four stars for sure.

Food was fabulous. Service was great, accommodating, but a wee bit slow. Ambience was really nice, tho the area we were in was rather dark... we saw a patron slip on the floor near us, possibly due to the lighting being so low in that area

First time here! Atmosphere was amazing, knowledgeable servers, quick appies. 100% worth the visit. Went up to the movies after, perfect date night, recommend booking a booth :)
