We truly enjoyed our dining experience. The rib eye was delicious. It was cooked perfectly. The jamon croquetas were delicious as well as the scallops ceviche.

The space is beautiful however it was very loud so hard to have table conversation. The cocktails were great. We were underwhelmed with the food. Overall we would go back for drinks but probably wouldn’t dine there again.

Thoroughly enjoyed Bernadette's! The servers, bartenders and entire staff were extremely attentive and accommodating. The food was yummy and menu was interesting (small plates and shareable which we loved). Highly recommend this spot in downtown scotch plains!

Bernadette is such a special addition to the area. The ambiance, food, drink & service is top tier without being pretentious. This was our 3rd time here and we have never been disappointed. This visit, we had grilled asparagus, fried artichokes, bacon wrapped dates (best i have ever had) and the 1/2 chicken. We had been wanting the chicken since we saw another table enjoying it on our first visit and we set out this time to not over order on small plates so we could order it. It is fantastic - so juicy and flavorful. Love having this type of restaurant just a few miles from home.

The shared plates portions are very small for the price. The fried olives were delicious but the serving only provided 7 very small olives. The fried artichokes were tasteless and visually unappealing. The steak was good but our cut was fatty and contained lots of tendons. The grilled asparagus were everyone’s favorite. The desserts were just okay but again extremely small portions. The decor is beautiful and our server was attentive. I would go back to sit at the bar for a drink but not for dinner.

Overall, it's a great place, fabulous vibe, service is seamless. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood in that it's not like all the other, usual restaurants. That said, it's really expensive. We paid nearly $300 for two of us. It's not a place that we can visit weekly, that's for sure. The food was good, but very small portions. For instance, the cheese platter comes with 3 cheese, no cracker, bread or fruit. So you just eat a bite of cheese. You can order grilled bread separately, but you still expect to not eat cheese alone. Listen, I hope they do well. I just can't imagine that they can sustain their business model.

Wait for table with reservation was half hour. Staff seems overwhelmed. Out of items on menu. Value of food and portion not worth it. Would stop by only for drinks in future maybe.

First time dining and it won’t be my last. Service was excellent, food is tasty and portion size is perfect as it’s tapas style. Unique cocktails, definitely a more feminine vibe and clientele was mainly women. Great spot and filling a void of tapas style food.

Our waitress Angie was wonderful and the ambiance was great. While the food was good, the portions were ridiculously small given the prices. It was unbelievable how small!
