Awkward experience with nonexistent service. I came here with my mother for her birthday. Despite having reservations, and the restaurant being practically empty, we were told we had to wait as the host had to “check something.” I figured no big deal; at least they had the reservation. They walked away and came back 10 mins or so later. We were seated and our server arrived. We ordered sodas while we looked over the menu, and when he came back we were handed soda cans, sort of like what you get at a taco truck; which was odd considering it’s a nice restaurant and the other Bennett’s location I’ve been to didn’t do that. Our server took our order and shortly after he walked out of the restaurant and we never saw him again. I guess his shift ended. He never said goodbye nor did he hand us off to another server. Our food came from a random person who didn’t speak to us except to ask who ordered what; the quality of the food was the only positive experience. I had the center cut filet and my mother had the grilled pork chop. Both entrees were wonderful, and I recommend them. We watched several servers walk by but no one came over to ask us if our meals were okay, if we wanted more soda/water or dessert even though we mentioned it was a birthday dinner in the reservation. I can’t even say it was busy even though we came during their happy hour at 3PM. It was like we didn’t exist. I had to ask someone to bring me the bill so that I could pay and leave. And when they brought the bill, they dropped it off at the table and kept walking barely acknowledging us. It was the worst dining experience I’ve had in Sacramento. I’ve been to Bennett’s before but in Rocklin for Thanksgiving and had an amazing experience. I would pass on this location and get Bennett’s great menu elsewhere. Restaurants are wondering why their industry is failing in Sacramento. They can’t seem to get the basics right. It’s a shame.

Enjoyed the eggs Benedict. Delicious!!! Loved it Great location. Fairoaks and Howe. The bar is a great size so if no tables available plenty of space in bar.

We chose Bennett's because it was close to the Choral Society concert at Fremont Pres and because they are a Fair Oaks Chamber member. Good food. Friendly staff.

It was our first time and we're eager to go back. Our only nitpicky complaint is that the baked brie plate had a ton of wonderful baked brie with barely anything to put it on -- about five tiny baguette slices -- about 2.5 apiece -- and a couple of tiny apple slices. Otherwise everything was fantastic. The blackened redfish was as good as Paul Prudhomme's. What a great place; glad we discovered it.
