It is always a nice time at Benihana's. I was celebrating my birthday and it was nice they did some special things. Sergio our cook was fantastic and fun.

Had 8:00 reservations. Chef didn't get to our table until after 9. Our family of 3 was sat with what appeared to be a "night shift worker" and her entourage. She and her group were having extremely inappropriate, vulgar, loud phone conversations the entire 2+ hour experience. Their crew was incredibly rude to the chef the entire time he cooked. We felt so sorry for him as he was an older gentleman. We could not wait to leave.

I really wanted to love this place. I've always heard about it but never dined here before. Our server was lethargic. He did nothing to contribute to the "experience ". Water came out 35 minutes after we were seated. We sat for nearly 40 minutes before the chef started cooking. When the chef came out he had to keep trying to resolve issues with the orders. The table next to ours were seated 10 minutes after us yet were eating before us. Their chef was entertaining but ours just cooked the food He rolled the egg and blew the whistle but it was a snooze fest.: I almost fell asleep because it was so boring Half of our food was cold waiting for the fried rice to get cooked. Overall it was a lackluster experience Food: 2 out of 10. Server: 2 out of 10. Hostess: 10 out of 10. Food and service was not in alignment with the prices. I've gotten way better hibachi for less. This is a one and done for me.

We have eaten at Benihana for years. It was affordable. Now? Too expensive!! Their prices have gone up to over $10/meal. Paid with tip of $140. And that’s for 2 people drinking ice tea. I’d rather eat at Gibson’s for that price. Even the old Signature Room. But at Benihana’s? It’s not a “fine dining” restaurant. Such a shame.
