Wonderful—and I mean wonderful—food. The service felt a bit rushed / abrupt / indifferent or something—but overall good. I will definitely return for another dinner whenever I’m back in London!

First things first, Benares happens to be one of the very few Michelins who allow a toddler/baby in restricted times and this time for us it was a 4 +1 so we were really delighted to visit. Food and ambience is really great, the service is top notch. Drinks are superb. We got on the 3 course set menu and the starters and dessert are all a thumbs up, all options. In the mains, jackfruit biryani will always take a special mention so will be the case with samosa chat in starters. Overall, it is really double thumbs for the price you pay as compared to a lot of michelins. For young parents, best would be to take the last lunch table and enjoy the meal.

Loved the food. There were multiple tables watching football at the restaurant on mobile devices. It ruined a part of the experience for us. I’d recommend they ask these guests to go to the pub next time. Other than this, it was a fantastic experience.

Service was terrible. We asked for matching wines but they were served midway through our meal so not very matching. Food was nice and the wine too when it was finally served to us. Plates were not collected in a timely manner, had to wait for the bill. Overall, not as good and experience as we’d hoped.

Had a very pleasant meal at Benares. The food is very good, and we were very full afterwards! I would say that it doesn’t have quite the same “wow factor” as some of the other top Indian restaurants in London, but is still very good. The service is excellent!
