Belmonte’s Ristorante crafts fine Italian cuisine in its elegant and charming eatery, located in the seaside resort town of Asbury Park. For starters, the portabella mushrooms stuffed with eggplant, spinach and mozzarella and the battered artichoke hearts Francese make excellent choices. If pasta is what you are craving, Belmonte’s Ristorante has many delightful choices, such as the potato gnocchi in a meaty Bolognese sauce, the shrimp pappardelle Roma with mushrooms and asparagus and the fettuccini Frankie with crumbled sausage, escarole and beans. Some of Belmonte’s Ristorante other specialty entrées include the chicken Philadelphia sautéed with shallots, mushrooms and green peppercorns, the filet mignon in sherry wine sauce and the prosciutto and mozzarella stuffed pork chops in a madeira sauce. Was anticipating a better dinner. Bread and salad were great, but the entress were disappointing. Veal parmagiana tasted like they were frozen veal patties, ravioli right out of the box, and a pasta and shrimp dish overcooked. Will not be back. At one time this was a go to restaurant in Asbury, now I understand why it was empty on a saturday night.

Haven't been there in a while. In the past, it seemed more authentic and family atmosphere than it does now. It wasn't bad, though.

We were a large group with children, and the wait staff was great with everyone! The food was good, reasonably priced, and it all came out very quickly. We will certainly go back again!

The waiter was sweet but spoke so fast we had to ask him to keep repeating himself. The food was fair. Very salty red sauce and very tough pork chops. After dinner aa we were leaving I looked at the chair I was sitting in And was horrified by the filth. I wish i looked before I sat down.

EXCELLENT Revisited after a long day and was delighted with selections, service and prices. Staff were energetic and enthusiastic about having a job unlike other restaurants in this area. No complaints from all 5 diners.

Food is great and seems to be getting better. Service needs more attention. Note that a 20.5% automatic tip + 3% cc charge on a party of 2 was a surprise as there was no notice.

Clearly, Belmonte’s have switched owners. From some reviews there was a time when either the former owner or the new owners left the restaurant a bit shaky. This was not our experience last night 8/26/24. The front team was working like a well-oiled machine; bread and water served promptly after menus were delivered. The bread was warm and accompanied by butter soft enough to spread. The kitchen seemed to be running just as efficiently as the front. Our food came out quickly, leaving us enough time to savor the bread. The food was hot and delicious. Wait staff were attentive bringing more bread when requested. This is a family run business; dad prepares food and the front is represented by children of his. If you were a loyal Belmonte’s customer who was worried about the change of owners, I suggest that you give them another try. They are clearly working hard to offer the best dining experience.

Local place with good food. Bread served on the table without asking and its a BYOB - very good value. Dishes are delicious and plentiful.
