Belly Bao is a located ion King Street, Newtown - Sydney's cultural hub.

Sydney's first dedicated home of Bao, we specialise in hand made Bao creativity. It's important to us that you enjoy our love for food paired with great drinks and friendly service in our fun, casual restaurant that offers a hint of old Chinese restaurant nostalgia.

Taking from the traditional chinese pork bun (pork bao), we pride ourselves on our hand made bao, and introducing our asian heritage to our Australian home.

By far my favourite restaurant in Sydney! I'd highly recommend the orange chicken, truffle fries and braised beef bao, which I've been ordering for years! Also has a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.

The food was awesome! After seeing the chilli baoratta on Instagram we had to try it and if was delicious! The ambiance was really nice, service great. Good for a date night or just with friends. Highly recommend

Love Belly Bao, food it always top tier. We were running a little late and they were more than accomodating. Atmosphere is perfect for just a casual dinner but also dates. The music is at a nice level and the food came out so fast. Will definitely be coming back

been many times but food was lacking on this occasion. bao was kinda bland and not as flavourful as it has been in the past. first time i had the papaya salad belly bao was inside good god small club and boy oh boy was it good. last nights delivery was nothing special. no depth. very one dimensional. the burrata was a stand out. but not worth the price. the curry cheese fries always 10/10. drink special was yuzu margs. eh. syrupy and sweet. no punch no character.

The service was horrible. As soon as we walked through the door we felt unwelcomed and rushed. I asked for take away boxes at the end and the waiter came back and slammed the bill on the table and said “the next table is arriving in 5 minutes…sooo”. My family and I left feeling very disappointed and dissatisfied. After spending nearly $400 I would expect a better service.
