Bella Colibri celebrates Colorado’s strong ties to Italy and founder Dean Valdez’s Italian family, who immigrated to Colorado from Calabria, Italy in the early 1900s.

The menu features fresh interpretations of Southern Italian dishes, including seafood, homemade pastas, Colorado lamb, steaks and more. All dishes are artfully presented.

The Chef’s Counter offers an up close view of the meticulous preparation and a chance to interact with the chefs as they prepare specialties and practice their craft.

Housed in one of the state’s most historic buildings, Bella Colibri’s elegant décor honors the building’s rich history, while also evoking the atmosphere of Southern Italy. Beautiful artwork depicts Colorado landscapes with a Tuscan feel.

                                                                  We ate here in 2023 and had a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, we did not have a similar experience this year. There were not enough servers for the crowded dining room. Everyone received their cocktail 15 minutes before one of our diners received their wine. Food was just OK, not of good value. Our server seemed to be the only one taking orders and also seemed to be managing the restaurant that night. There also seemed to be discord among the other employees. We had fun anyway just being together as a family!

                                                                  We love Bella Colibri and come to celebrate birthdays every year. The food is delicious & staff are friendly & helpful. A real gem in downtown Golden.

                                                                  Our wait person, Alora, was fabulous and steered us in the right direction on every choice when we were undecided. The burratta appetizer was amazing, as was the bucatini all’Amatriciana, the lasagne and clams with fragula pasta. Our desserts were also incredible, from the creme brulee (enough for 2), the gelato, and the lemon and olive oil cake. We would definitely visit them again on another trip.

                                                                  There are very interesting accompaniments integrated into the dishes. The staff are very friendly and they seemed to know a lot about the various dishes.

                                                                  Great surprise to find out they stepped up the bread plate with great tasting bread and three excellent tasting spreads besides the oil and vinegar. The food was great as always. Staff is awesome and give great recommendations for drinks and food.
