Beeside Balcony is a hidden gem in La Jolla Village, CA with a relaxed seaside chic décor where guests enjoy global mediterranean cuisine and ocean views from interior and the balcony. A third generation chef of Spanish and Italian descent, and hailing form Paris, France, Christophe's restaurant career began at 17 in the kitchen of his father's restaurant in Pasadena when they first emigrated to the USA. Upon returning to southern California in 2011, Christophe spent 8 years as the managing partner of Eddie V's Prime Seafood in La Jolla. Here he deepened his knowledge of sourcing and cooking the freshest seafood available, while delivering world class service. The laid back coastal vibe of La Jolla, combined with the attention to detail from Christophe's fine dining background, infuses Beeside Balcony with an easy elegance that elevates any gathering, and makes the perfect backdrop to showcase his global mediterranean menu. We really wanted to enjoy this experience. It was my second time to eat at Beeside; the first time was for breakfast. We started with the escargot, which was outstanding! My husband ordered a ceasar which came and almost seemed like he was getting punked. The entire bowl of romaine was the white or very pale green ends. It's like they had no good Romaine and tried to make due. It literally was the stuff I throw away at home. My husband ordered the salmon for this main course which was decent but nothing spectacular. I ordered the crab cake appetizer with a side of feta fries to share. The crab cake was large and delicious, but parts of it were cold as if it hadn't stayed in the fryer long enough. The feta fries were literally fries with feta sprinkled on top. If I were going to the trouble of posting "Feta Fries" as an option on a menu, I would try to make it somewhat spectacular (maybe sprinkled with oregano, olive oil, a squeeze of lemon, and (at the very least) MELTED feta or served with a feta whip). My daughter had the Jidori chicken, which was very bland. The potatoes were covered in the demi-glace which we all felt was a detractor. We shared the churro dessert, which was delicious.

Overall it was an okay experience - nothing too exciting but was overall good for a post dinner drink

Nice location, great ambiance, food was good overall but all made with a lot of butter and garlic (what’s not to love except my arteries!) ; baklava ice cream cake was the highlight for us

Great spot for couples. Small round tables for two. A few on the balcony if weather is good. Food was good but not great. Price’s middle of the road. Nice big bar for those who want drinks only.

From the moment we arrived at the hostess was gracious, sat us down and gave us our drinks. The server was amazing. I cannot remember her name, but she was so sweet, and the strawberry martinis are out of this world the food the salmon was perfectly cooked, and the burger was a medium, also perfectly cooked great atmosphere. The noise level was perfect to where you can actually have a conversation and it wasn’t too loud.

Pulpo salad entree is outstanding! Super cute balcony, good brunch (lunch menu covers everything), waitress was fabulous and handmade our cocktails. Will be me coming back! Didn’t even do the speakeasy - the food is worth returning!

I am in love with the woman that owns this place. She is SO sweet and knowledgeable. The food and wine were great. Great atmosphere.
