Please join us for the second instalment of our Wine Dinner Series as we celebrate the incredible bounty of fish and seafood we have from the 46° South Fish Company and The Whalesbone Group. Chef de Cuisine Lukas Zajicek has crafted a special 7-course tasting menu with wine pairings selected by Wine Director Jordan Sabourin. This social wine dinner will be hosted at a communal table, so please expect a lively atmosphere for conversation and connection. Arrival time is 6pm, and the first course will be served at 6:30pm. While we can accept most dietary restrictions for this event with 48 hours notice, we will be unable to accommodate any fish and seafood restrictions due to the theme and nature of ingredients. Our valentines dinner was SO fantastic. From walking in the front door to the last staff member we saw on our way out, everything was outstanding. The food was incredible. Wine recommendations were spot on. Every employee was so polite and welcoming. A perfect night out.

Exceptional Dining Experience at Beckta From start to finish, our experience at Beckta was nothing short of amazing. The service was impeccable—though we unfortunately forgot the name of our waitress, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, making us feel truly welcomed and cared for throughout the evening. We opted for the menu dégustation, and every course was a masterpiece. The flavors were expertly balanced, the ingredients fresh and thoughtfully chosen, and each plate was presented beautifully, showcasing the culinary artistry that makes Beckta stand out. A true highlight of the meal was the blue cheese dessert—an absolute wow factor! It was a bold yet perfectly executed creation by the pastry chef, demonstrating incredible skill and thoughtfulness in its composition. Our new favorite restaurant in Ottawa! The food was delicious and the staff are top notch. You can tell the Beckta family is committed to providing an exemplary dining experience. Was refreshing to engage with the staff who are joyful to be a part of this restaurant and in return engage diners with professionalism, confidence, and joy. And, it was a gift to dine in a restaurant where it is quiet enough to have a conversation and enjoy our food without the noise of distractions. We loved everything about this restaurant and will be back!

Was a wonderful date night with my wife. Found this gem on a whim as we are from Alberta. Food, service and ambiance were all exceptional! We had the Tasting menu with wine pairing. All balanced out very well. Good value for what you get as well. Thank you for a romantic night!

Beckta never fails to satisfy! We had a beautiful South African Cabernet Sauvignon, which was excellent value for the quality of the wine. Our potato leek soup was velvety, with generous helpings of salmon as a welcome treat. Our beef and duck mains were delicious and we enjoyed sharing them. And I will weep if the matcha cake is ever removed from the menu. Loved every bite, and our servers were delightful. Thank you

Beckta is a wonderful spot to have a meal or a drink with some appetizers. The food is always on point. The chef is creative with the dishes. I always enjoy my time spent there. Wait staff are well suited for their role. They are attentive without being intrusive. A dining experience that does not disappoint.

The charcuterie was underwhelming—the meat was dry, and the cheese wasn’t great, making everything feel a bit off. The shrimp tempura didn’t have a proper tempura batter, and the sauce was both sparse and overly sweet. The salad was heavily dressed, which overpowered the other flavors. The drinks were decent, but overall, the meal didn’t meet my expectations.

A terrific lunch at a good price. My only concern was that an appetizer course still listed on the web site menu on the day of the reservation was not available. Disappointing. Not keeping the web site current is a problem.
