Awful experience from the start. Firstly they wouldn’t accept our open table reservation because the booking wasn’t on their piece of hand written scrap paper. We then got given a table outside by the rude waiter and when I asked if I could have a drinks menu he said ‘they’re over there’ and pointed to entrance where we had just walked from?! So I got back up and walked to the entrance to grab a menu. Policy states over 18’s only but there was kids running around everywhere ? After I sat back down, looked through the menu with my partner and then saw the queue at the bar trailing outside we decided to leave as there was only 1 person behind the bar. This place could be so much better if they had more staff and was managed correctly. Awful experience and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

We booked a table based on your promotions for sharing boards and fizz Friday however neither were available which wasn't mentioned when we made an enquiry about the sharing boards in particular. We were left with a table booking and no option of food or snacks

Rainy evening and arrived to a very empty Beckett with about 4 others already there. It was just a friend and I for drinks. We went to the bar where two servers were waiting and they gave us drinks menus and told us to take a seat. There didn’t seem to be any table service, so I went back to the bar and ordered drinks - £14 per drink, £28 total. We were told we couldn’t set up a tab. I sat back down and then the bar men hollered over that our drinks were ready and said drinks were on the bar. There was no one waiting to be served and seemingly no waiter to bring them over. For £28 I had to get up from my table and collect my own drinks! The bar men then leaned back with their arms crossed for the remainder of the evening while we were there. Safe to say we left! While the drinks tasted pleasant, the lack of decent service and ambience meant we won’t be back and leaves a lot to be desired. We headed to Lloyd’s Lounge 2 mins away where there was live music, table service and amazing cocktails for £10 each, and you don’t have to pre-book unlike Becketts. No wonder it was busy in Lloyds! Becketts has a lot to learn from other establishments.

Saw the advert to book Fizz Friday including nibbles on Facebook. Another reader had asked what the nibbles were and Beckets had replied olives and nuts so thought great, a bottle of fizz and nibbles on the roof top terrace would be fab with my parter so booked. Despite booking for 1pm, the only member of staff was doing his best but seemed ill prepared. No nibbles, we even offered to go downstairs to get some from the hotel Bar to help him out. Dirty dishes outside the toilets and the toilets definately hadn't been cleaned before opening at 12 midday. The view is beautiful and could be amazing but if you advertise something, you need to deliver.

We did not eat, just had drinks. On the whole Becketts was ok. I would prefer not to have to queue at the bar. The view was good, choice of drinks extensive. All the staff were fine, I just think more would have been better so that we could order from our table

The person who “welcomed” you was awful. He was rude and sat up at a dirty table. There was no waiter service which was odd as the drinks are not quick to make. Meaning a lot of standing at the bar. Great location. The young people working the bar and clearing some of the tables where very friendly making the person at the front of house look like even more embarrassing.

Come here for drinks for the first time Saturday night with my mum! And it totally made our night, drinks were beautifully made and the staff at the bar were lovely. Views were amazing and everyone was so friendly will definitely be back

Booked a table in the rooftop cocktail bar, wonderful bar, great views and two excellent bar men. The bar was extremely busy, the two guys were working flat out mixing cocktails but also having to clean glasses to make each drink, the duty manager Bradley gave no support when I told him they needed help because the bar had no clean glasses. Without exaggerating I waited over 30 minutes with the grooms brother before he got served, I choose to have a champagne cocktail based on the fact that the only clean glasses were champagne glasses, that’s fact !
