    The food was delicious, but portions were too small. So price/value not great. We thought the “precious” minimal nouvelle cuisine trend was over a decade ago.

    didn’t know places like this existed in Charleston. Walked in on Halloween and had one of the best meals of my life at the chef’s counter. Chef George and his team created an unforgettable experience for us, delivering warmth, humor and exceptional service from the moment we sat down. We filled ourselves with roasted oysters (AMAZING), foie gras toast (“one of the best things I’ve ever had in my mouth” said my husband- I felt the same way), scallops, smoked salmon, venison stroganoff (bonkers how delicious that was), monk fish, and capped the meal with three exquisite desserts. We closed the place down and they gave us all tequila shots (I don’t normally drink tequila but wow that was smooth) to toast their one year anniversary. I hope they stick around for many more years to come. Bravo 🙌🏼

    The dinner and cocktails were outstanding! The desserts (we tried all 3!) were to die for. Also, our waiter was hot! Fun was had by all!

    Phenomenal food. Full stop. Rivals any more-heavily touted Charleston foodie spots. Also, not downtown so parking is free and people are local! Chef is fully engaged with staff and patrons making all feel like we're enjoying a fun meal together. Should be impossible to get a reservation but you're in luck (until the secret gets out)!

    DO IT! By IT, I mean Kitchen Counter + Tasting Menu. Most forward leaning, inspired dishes in Charleston. Skip all the modern takes on Southern fare and try something new. We sat at the Kitchen Counter. The Chef was present the whole time, willing to chat, and not pretentious at all. He was genuinely interested in our experience and proud to see his creations on diner's plates. On that, food presentation is well thought through. This isn't an all-you-can-eat buffet, but you'll leave full. It's all about ingredients, complication, and finesse. We had a blast... good energy, great food experience (taste + presentation), solid company Chef and his crew! Pro-tip: Stick around until they start offering the late night chopped cheese. You won't regret it.

    This is a restaurant that wants to be ambitious but without the quality to back it up. Starters were the duck toast, broiled oysters and crab dumplings. Presentations are nice but apps were ok at best. With a table of 4 (2 kids) I had an oyster, a 2 inch piece of bread, and a crab dumpling going into the entrees. If I were eating at a Michelin star tasting menu then perhaps the portions would be adequate, and although they have a tasting menu there, we were a la carte. And the apps were just fine at best, nothing memorable. Entrees were the mess. The scallop entree had 2 scallops which again would be ok if part of a multi course tasting, but not as a stand alone entree. Same with the duck course that had 2 slices of the duck. My monkfish plate on the other hand was a very large portion- but was cold when it came to the table- including the vegetables. I couldn’t eat it. The best dish was the venison cavatelli- good size portion and filling- but that had been listed as a small plate, not entree. And while the best dish there, it was not as good as any pasta dish we’ve had at Charleston’s other restaurants. The other miss is the FOH lacks a face- there is not a person that can be recognized as the General Manager or floor leader and in a place that is shooting high with its food, service has to match. While service was friendly, it wasn’t the level of what they want it to be with the food they want to make- although neither was the food itself. While they did apologize for the monkfish and offer to sub it- the quality of the other food did not justify staying any longer. All in all, there is much better food in Charleston, and this place is not worth the price. Just because the presentations look like they are from a higher level restaurant does not mean that they will taste that way.

    I planned our anniversary dinner at the restaurant. Excellent choice. The food was artistically presented and tasted excellent. Fantastic night.
