Bayberry Hollow’s journey began in 2011 whilst strolling through the picturesque village of Tanfield. We fell in love with, what was, the village pub; The Pack Horse.

Here at Bayberry Hollow our ethos is simple... Great tasting home made dishes in a relaxed dining environment with welcoming service.

Our food menu is not huge, but there will be something on there that everyone will love.

Please note serving times for food:

Breakfast: Sunday-Friday 10am-11:30am & Saturday 9am-11am

Lunch Sunday- Friday 12pm- 3:30pm & Saturday 11:30am-4pm

We still serve our Coffee, Scone & Cake menu but on a walk in basis only. No reservations for this, you will be charged for this.

All of our team are from the local surrounding area and we all pride ourselves in making each of our customers welcome and appreciated. Our newly refurbished bistro provides the perfect destination for you to relax with friends and family, we are looking forward to welcoming you in store soon!

We ordered the Halloween afternoon tea and they forgot to add the crispy bacon to my chicken sandwiches (but we're going to charge us extra fof it). They also tried to overcharge us by £10 - the price of 2 hot chocolate drinks (which should have been included in the afternoon tea overall price). They were very busy, so service was really slow but this should still be no excuse to not keep on top of what people have ordered, £10 is a lot of money to overcharge on a bill.

We’re truly sorry for the oversight with your drinks charge and for not including the crispy bacon on your chicken sandwiches. The welcome drink is typically served at the start of our afternoon tea, but we understand you preferred it later, which impacted our ordering system and led to the error. We're glad to hear you were not ultimately charged for it. Regarding the pace of service, we’re very sorry that it felt slow. Our aim was to ensure you felt comfortable during your three-hour visit, so myself and the team checked in periodically offering more drinks without wanting you to feel rushed or pressured to leave. I can also see your afternoon tea was served in 16 minutes from when you placed your order. Thank you again for your feedback—it really helps us improve!

We went for a Halloween afternoon tea. Staff were really welcoming and went above and beyond to create a special experience for us. Food was outstanding. We will be back.

Have visited multiple times and enjoyed it each time. Yesterday at lunch time, it was crowded, but our booking ahead made getting a table easy. Kitchen must have been swamped, because it took quite a while to get served. Result was excellent, but HUGE. Had enough for another meal. Might be nice if the menu had options for small or large portions. Having low ceilings and little fabric contributed to the noise level, which was rather high. Solution, try to avoid busy times. Charming and inviting place. We’ll definitely visit again.
