Bayberry Hollow’s journey began in 2011 whilst strolling through the picturesque village of Tanfield. We fell in love with, what was, the village pub; The Pack Horse.

Here at Bayberry Hollow our ethos is simple... Great tasting home made dishes in a relaxed dining environment with welcoming service.

Our food menu is not huge, but there will be something on there that everyone will love.

Please note serving times for food:

Breakfast: Sunday-Friday 10am-11:30am & Saturday 9am-11am

Lunch Sunday- Friday 12pm- 3:30pm & Saturday 11:30am-4pm

We still serve our Coffee, Scone & Cake menu but on a walk in basis only. No reservations for this, you will be charged for this.

All of our team are from the local surrounding area and we all pride ourselves in making each of our customers welcome and appreciated. Our newly refurbished bistro provides the perfect destination for you to relax with friends and family, we are looking forward to welcoming you in store soon!

Everyone can enjoy a deliciously warm cheese scone. Your sweets start with a sweet scone served with clotted cream and jam, then a choice of delicious cake and also a chocolate dipped strawberry to finish. Gluten free? We can provide a full gluten free afternoon tea Along with your food you can enjoy an unlimited supply of our double gold star Taste Award coffee and fine English tea, please note there is an extra charge for speciality tea or coffee. We also have Prosecco available, served by the glass or bottle. Afternoon Tea is priced pp for booking.

Food is always amazing, great quality and generous portions. We had the festive stottie with turkey stuffing and bacon which came with the tastiest chips I’ve ever had, a jug of gravy and cranberry sauce. Service is excellent, all staff are really friendly and cannot do enough to help you and make you visit special. Quality, food and surroundings. Gift shop is an added bonus with some lovely stuff at reasonable prices. One of my favourite places to visit. If you haven’t tried the afternoon teas you should they are wonderful.

We went for lunch today to celebrate our anniversary. Your online booking system asked if we were going for any reason and I noted it was for our anniversary and didn’t think much of it. When we arrived all of the staff were polite and professional. They congratulated us on our anniversary which in itself was a lovely touch. We were then treated to a glass of Prosecco each which we thought was very kind. The food (we had the soup and warm cheese scone) was delicious and surprisingly filling (there was no space left for desert) and we finished with two lovely lattes. The ambiance was lovely, a gently hum of a busy cafe and all the staff we friendly, polite and welcoming. We will definitely be back

Excellent food and excellent service. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. The food was beautiful and we bought cakes to take home. We weren't disappointed they were gorgeous. We will definitely be back.

There were four of us, we ordered three full English breakfasts and a scrambled egg with smoked salmon. These were all delicious. The only complaint we had was the 3 latte’s were very milky more like a cup of hot milk, very weak. Would definitely visit again but would order tea next time!

Seasonal afternoon tea was fabulous. Children on neighbouring tables reduced my mark. The food was superb but far too much…you do provide boxes which is good. We would prefer a smaller option. Would even pay the same price. Will definitely come back

From booking to paying the bill a great experience. Service was swift and the food was hot and scrumptious! Staff were welcoming and swift!!

Love Bayberry Hollow. Food is always lovely and today was no exception. We had a Christmas Turkey sandwich with chips and delicious gravy. Took friends for their first visit and they loved it. One day I will get through their gorgeous little shop without buying anything😂.
