We have eaten regularly at Bayards Cove over the last four years. The atmosphere, surroundings and wait staff have always been very welcoming. However this year I was disappointed with the meal I ordered. I understood it was a fillet of bass with some additional crab meat. I was given a small half fillet and some brown crab meat. I also had some roast potatoes and a parmesan salad but I did not feel it was worth £22. I left feeling disappointed.

We chose to eat at Bayards Cove Inn as we have visited before and enjoyed the overall experience. Unfortunately on this occasion not so good. The young waiter was very polite however there was no offer for water or treats for our dog. This is a dog friendly restaurant and on the last visit our dog was given both water and treats. The ambience was nowhere near the nice vibe we experienced before. There appeared to be very few staff in fact apart from our waiter there was only one more member I saw. As for the food, we both ordered a sirloin steak which was okay but not of the quality we had last time, a sirloin steak from Sainsbury’s would have been of better quality. Overall very disappointing I am sorry to say, I don’t think we would choose to eat here on our next visit to Dartmouth.

Delicious food and great service. Lamb kofeta was delicious with a lovely salad with it. Belly pork also great. Can't comment on dessert as we were too full!

Quaint quirky setting, good atmosphere. Food was tasty but forgettable. The service was excellent and our waitress was charming and attentive. It’s a lovely place to have a meal, however the couple next to us had a dog which smelt and that really spoiled my enjoyment of our meal. I requested a window table as it was a special occasion, which I know isn’t always possible, however we were put at the back of the restaurant slightly behind a wall with no view of anything. This was disappointing as there were some lovely tables available.

We had fantastic service and delicious food at Bayards Cove Inn. The staff were really friendly and attentive, the food was top quality.

We had a very good evening. The food and service were excellent, and the setting is very good also. We would definitely recommend Bayards Cove Inn.
