We’re delighted to introduce Bavette. A neighbourhood bistro filled with warm engaging hospitality, with a menu of seasonally led classically driven dishes.

We hope to get that balance of generosity and quality right - that juxtaposition of every day special.

Bavette is a love letter to our favourite places we’ve been to and been lucky enough to be a part of.

We were greeted and served by a wonderful team of people. Everyone was so hospitable. The food was stunning and we had a lovely lunch. I would thoroughly recommend it and will definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic- every element was executed perfectly, cannot choose a favourite dish! Staff were attentive, knowledgable and friendly. Cannot wait to go back!

Quite disappointed really. Had been wanting to go for a long time - small French bistro vibe doing great food well - and obviously mentioned in the guide. But shellfish bisque was too strong (almost artificial flavour) with an unnecessary oil on (? fennel) and unnecessary addition of harrisa to the aoili. My partner's roast beetroot was over powered by horseraddish. The cote de boeuf was very well cooked but tepid, and the brocolli though cooked well was overpowered by anchovies. The dauphinoise was excellent. Very good portion sizes (can't fault) but we didnt have deserts. So standard of cooking very good but the flavours too strong. Very small winelist by the glass, only 10 wines, and we left some wine (unheard of).

Lovely relaxed vibe if a little noisy. Food all absolutely delicious and service generally attentive without being overbearing. We have only marked it down due to our experience over the wine. We ordered a bottle of ‘family vineyard’ pinot noir. The waitress brought us a small sample to try as it was one they sell by the glass. When our bottle arrived and the wine poured it was definitely corked - cloudy in the glass and smelt off (the sample we tasted had been clear). When we pointed this out, rather than apologising and immediately taking the bottle away they tried to explain that this was a natural wine with the implication being that there was nothing wrong with it and they were doing us a favour taking it away and allowing us to change our mind. They recommended an alternative pinot which we enjoyed, but they did not comment further on the bottle we returned. The episode somewhat soured (pun intended) our lunchtime anniversary meal

Fabulous food. Complex flavours for such ‘simple’ dishes. Worth a 10 min train trip out to Horsforth. I’ll be back next time I am in Leeds. This place and the food are truly special and the best bistro food I’ve ever tasted, even in France!

This bistro exceeded my expectations I was greeted by the host with genuine friendliness. The food ambience are exquisite, this was a special occasion we will not forget.

We thought the food was quite tasty, with a good variety on the menu. We had a selection of starters and snacks, and each had a main. The sauces were v tasty, but my steak was cold, and the duck that two of the party ordered was overcooked a bit. It would be good if there were the options to order sides (particularly vegetables/ greens), as we had a young child with us and their choices were v limited. The desserts were fantastic. The service was great and it could be a great spot for families to gather for leisurely meals - if the menu could cater for younger customers too.
