We’re delighted to introduce Bavette. A neighbourhood bistro filled with warm engaging hospitality, with a menu of seasonally led classically driven dishes.

We hope to get that balance of generosity and quality right - that juxtaposition of every day special.

Bavette is a love letter to our favourite places we’ve been to and been lucky enough to be a part of.

This is what food heaven much feel like. This was my 2nd visit to Bavette and my husband’s first so I was really excited for him to have the same experience I’d had before. However, it was even better than my 1st experience. We were the first people in the restaurant at 1200 for our Sunday lunch. You wouldn’t believe it though as the atmosphere was buzzing as the staff worked away chatting to each other and making a fuss of us. The restaurant was full within 45 minutes so make sure you book well in advance to get the time you’d prefer. The staff are so friendly and attentive and not at all overbearing. Their wine knowledge is exceptional and it’s great to hear someone speaking so passionately about wine. We ordered the Sunday roast cote de boeuf (and a couple of extras) as it sounded amazing on the menu. Boy was that the best decision of the day. The beef was outstanding and there was more than enough for 2 people. So much so, we asked to bring the leftover meat home which made delicious sandwiches later. The accompaniments were incredible. I love braised red cabbage and it was some of the best I’ve ever had and complimented the beef so well. The dauphinoise potatoes were delicious along with the Yorkshire puddings and green beans. We’d been a bit greedy and ordered extra roast potatoes, but they were so worth it and the empty plates spoke volumes. The quiet star of the show was the gravy. You could taste the love that had gone into making the gravy and we were so glad we’d ordered an extra jug 😉 All in all, we both agreed that this was the best Sunday lunch we’ve had for years and we can’t wait for our next visit.

Had a great couples lunch. From the moment you are greeted at the door and shown to your table, you are well looked after. Great menu, well executed and presented. An extensive wine list, not cheap. Loved our choice of shared entrees, a main each and a shared dessert with a bottle of red wine. Coffee to finish and bill of £119. Just the right amount of food to feel sated and not too full or wanting more. Would definitely recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

Food was amazing. Service was outstanding. Best overall experience for a meal out we have had in a long time. We will definitely be back and tell all our family and friends. Merci, Bavette!

A lovely French bistro with a Loire accent. Excellent friendly waiting staff , owner very much in evidence. Short excellently executed menu- rillettes of duck with cornichons. Bavette steak. French cheeses. Wines by glass or bottle. I thought the red wine from the family vineyard was unusual- wouldn’t order it again, but that’s personal taste. Reasonable prices. We will definitely return. Deserves its Michelin star .

We had a fantastic evening. We went out for a birthday treat and had the best evening. The staff were all excellent, very friendly and made us feel really welcome. The food was fantastic, cooked perfectly and we didn’t feel rushed with time between courses. The menu had a good variety but wasn’t too busy and the waiting staff were very helpful in describing how things were made and where the dishes were sourced from. I would recommend Bavette

Fabulous service and food will definitely go again. The muscles for starters where great as was the cote de boeuf for 3 people
