We’re delighted to introduce Bavette. A neighbourhood bistro filled with warm engaging hospitality, with a menu of seasonally led classically driven dishes.

We hope to get that balance of generosity and quality right - that juxtaposition of every day special.

Bavette is a love letter to our favourite places we’ve been to and been lucky enough to be a part of.

I was very much looking forward to Sunday lunch here based on a couple of recommendations. However the choice of roasts was in my view limited. My husband ordered the lamb shoulder which arrived with the texture of pulled pork. The sauce was so salty that he could not finish the lamb which is unheard of from him. I ordered the plaice from the main menu which was cooked very well and enjoyed the aubergine accompaniment but this would not be to everyone’s taste. We mentioned the saltiness of the lamb to two staff but did not feel that our comments were particularly taken on board. Not sure that we will return as we were not as impressed by the food as we were hoping to be. Service is lovely apart from quite a long delay in checking if we wanted any dessert/coffee.

Dear Terry, Thank you very much for visiting Bavette and for your review. I am glad to read that you enjoyed your fish dish and our service. I am sorry that you felt your feedback on the lamb wasn't taken on board. Since then, we have been briefing the team on how to handle feedback and making sure they always pass it on to us. I can assure you that when you mentioned it to me while I was taking your payment, I passed it on straight back to the kitchen to make sure it wouldn't happen to another table. Best. Clement.

A beautiful evening at a fabulous restaurant. Bavette deliver contemporary delicious French food in a modern setting. The Comte croquettes and crème brûlée were a particular highlight.
