The overall atmosphere of this restaurant was really quaint, with the decor and lighting giving off a positive vibe. However, when we first walked in, we got stared down by some of the weight staff that were standing by the bar….who didn’t even offer a smile. It was as if we had interrupted them, or we were intruders in their restaurant. It wasn’t a very welcoming first impression. As for the food, every entrée was $35 or more. While the presentation and flavors were very good, the portion sizes were incredibly small for the price. My particular meal was one of their steak dishes, at $44, and the piece of meat was only about 4” wide x 4” long. About a half inch of fat was around the entire cut of meat. Finally, despite the cold greeting by some of the servers, our particular server was polite and helpful. That being said, I wasn’t particularly fond of the fact that payment was made on the spot at the table, where you were required to enter your tip in front of the waitress. I generally give at least 20%, regardless of service quality (unless it was incredibly horrible), but I think that this process might make some people uncomfortable. In sum, the food was fresh and flavorful, but overpriced for the portions in my opinion. The atmosphere is very quaint and cheery, but not very welcoming.

Excellent communication when making reservation. Carolina was our server. Again, excellent.

We love Batuqui! This is the 2nd time we’ve been to the Chagrin Falls location and they never disappoint. The food is always savor and “that” good!! The service is second to none. We highly recommend enjoying the ambiance, staff, food and beverages.

One of my favorite restaurants in Cleveland. Consistently amazing food, great service, and pleasant ambiance! Only complaint was that the air conditioning couldn’t keep up with hot and humid conditions outside.

Service was very slow with no apologies or explanation why. The couple we were with food, came out five minutes before our entrées.

We always enjoy the service and the food at Batuqui on the Falls. The location is great and the restaurant is in a charming old house. We had the chicken and the short rib entree. The drinks are also fantastic! We look forward to our next visit.
