Join us on October 16th for a celebration of vegetables as we host James Beard Foundation Award-winning author Hetty McKinnon for a one-night-only dinner as part of Sisterly Love Collectives' Cookbooks & Convos series. Chef-Partner Tyler Akin designed a vegetarian, four-course menu in partnership with local farms and inspired by Hetty's lauded cookbook, Tenderheart. The evening will showcase local and seasonal vegetables through the lens of Bastia's coastal Mediterranean cuisine. $125 per person inclusive of tax and gratuity. Tickets include a signed copy of Tenderheart by Hetty McKinnon. N/A Pairing is available at $40pp Wine Pairing is available at $65pp.

We decided to sit outside as it seemed like it would be hard to hear our conversation inside( I do find that issue in alot of other resturants too). The place itself is lovely both inside and out. You feel like you are in a high end place. The service was outstanding. The presentation of the food was wonderful! We all got different dishes so we could try each others. The portions were small. There were 4 of us and 2 of the 4 main courses were way to salty. I like alot of salt and salt most things. For me to think the meals were to salty is saying something.

Everything was fantastic. Loved loved loved it. Will be a regular for sure. I just have one piece of advice hehe play some better music, maybe some ITALO disco to match the vibe

We ended up having a last minute addition to our reservation and they were very nice to accommodate us. The food and service was excellent. Will be back!

I absolutely loved my experience at Bastia. I went with four people to celebrate a special occasion. All of the details were well thought out, the ambiance was warm and friendly, the service was thorough and extremely professional. And the food! The flavors, seasonality and knowledge of the dishes was impressive. All in all, just dynamite!

We went here for a birthday dinner date night and had a wonderful time. The waiter was very accommodating and went above and beyond. The menu is fresh for Fishtown and the food was delicious. I had the lamb gnochetti and my husband had the octopus. Both dishes were a great portion size (ie not giant) and excellently cooked. The ambiance was soothing yet vibrant and the rest of the hotel was beautifully renovated. They had a wide cocktail, wine and beer selection. I would definitely recommend for a date night or after work drinks!

Bastia is a new and welcome addition to the Philadelphia dining scene. Its highlight of the cuisine of Corsica and Sardinia is spot on and absolutely delicious! The food is amazing, though difficult to decipher for a typical American like myself. Reading the menu can be quite a challenge as there are many unknown entities. However, the waitstaff is happy to explain the menu which is a must. Once you find things to your taste you will be flabbergasted by the food as it arrives in each individually shared course. We enjoyed the sea urchin butter tartine followed by the quail eggplant with ratatouille and then the veal osso Bacco with lentils. Each dish was appropriately sized and a delicious taste not native to this area. Full of Mediterranean healthfulness and sunshine. I enjoyed a glass of the frappato red wine though it was a little lighter that I would have preferred. We finished with the olive oil cake with luxardo cherries, amaro and pistachio gelato. What a delicious light and very Mediterranean finish! After a cappuccino two deliciously cold clementines came with the check , apparently a typical Corsican gift to your houseguests. What a refreshing way to finish a bright Mediterranean meal! The only downside to our experience at Bastia was the room itself. It is a very loud room on a Saturday evening and at times difficult to converse with one dinner partner. Furthermore we were seated at a two top abutting a half wall which separated the dining room from the bar. Needless to say on this busy Saturday night we frequently had bar patrons literally lingering over our table as we ate. According to one server they are soon to have a glass partition on top of the half wall to more completely separate the bar from the dining room. I am sure all the dining patrons abutting that half wall of bar will appreciate it. But don’t let this lead you away — Bastia is a new amazing culinary experience in Philadelphia and should not be missed!
