D'après les éditeur·rices d'OpenTable : Acclaimed chef Tyler Akin is back with Bastia, his stylish Mediterranean restaurant inside Fishtown’s Anna & Bel hotel. Snag a seat at one of the green marble bar tops or at a cozy table by the fireplace to dig into seafood-forward dishes like sea urchin butter tartine paired with playful cocktails and riffs on classic aperitivi. Either way, the all-day cafe is made for lingering, just like his beloved and now-shuttered Res Ispa was.

Join us for our annual Friendsgiving on November 26th as we transport you to Sardinia and Corsica for a five-course menu. Start with cheese, charcuterie and snacks. Next enjoy a course of salads, including a sun-dried tomato panzanella and more. Continuing with a family-style lamb and pistachio lasagna, followed by grilled orata and Bonifacio-style roasted eggplant. Desserts for the table include pumpkin cake and burnt cardamom leaf panna cotta. The menu is $95 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity, with optional wine and non-alcoholic pairings available at an additional cost, along with our full cocktail menu. Vegetarian and pescatarian options are available upon request; please let us know of any dietary needs when booking.

The food was so good! I was apprehensive at first bc I didn’t even know what half the words were on the menu. But after googling a few words the menu was less daunting. Everything just had such wonderfully intense flavors. Even things I don’t typically like, like artichokes were made so uniquely delicious. I had swordfish skewers over walnut pesto with a zesty Greek yogurt and it was excellent. I asked the bartender what special cocktail I should try when my go-to is an old fashioned. He recommended an Islay of Beauty which was a pear/orange interpretation of an old fashioned and was fantastic.

I wrote my entire review on yelp. Because open table doesn’t have enough characters to support how AMAZING it was. Bastia is the best restaurant I’ve been to in a very long time and I have eaten at all of the Philly spots. All of them.

Our server was incredible, my partner has food allergies and she felt really safe and also the kitchen made a plate of carrots and dip in place of the bread service for her. The food was outstanding with our favorite being the grapefruit and burrata dish.

Had dinner, then drinks at the separate bar afterwards in the atrium. Such a special place. When we left, we realized we'd lost track of time and space, hardly believing we'd been in Fishtown the whole time.

We celebrated our 19th anniversary at Bastia, and it was perfect! The cozy atmosphere, amazing food, and thoughtful staff made the night very special. Everything—from the cocktails to the beautifully crafted dishes—was spot on. Can’t wait to go back!

We had a great experience at Bastia. The food was delicious and the service was awesome. Favorites were the tuna crudo and amberjack crudo special (the lemon drop peppers were so well integrated!!). I enjoyed my orata entree and my partner loved his entrecote. Also, thank you for the carrot crudite with delicious tahini during the first course since I am gluten free! My only note would be that I wished the BTG wines were a little higher quality and that the pours were standardized to 5 oz. Thank you for a lovely meal and experience!!

Food and cocktails were fantastic, great ambience, wonderful service, we were offered a complimentary pour of bubbles for anniversary, food came out timely and portions were perfectly sized. We will absolutely be back. The only challenge of our experience was narrowing down our order because the whole menu was so intriguing and appealing!
