Basso's Chef Room is an experience room designed for petite gatherings. It is available for Lunch and Dinner. You may dine A La Carte, or with sufficient notice we can prepare a custom menu for you. Your reservation entitles you to enjoy our Chef Room for a maximum of 3 hours. This $50 per person up-charge fee, doesn't include any consumption, it is a booking fee for a private seat in the Chef Room. All consumption, beverages and food is additional. If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason we ask that you do so by 10pm the day prior to receive a refund. Any cancellations made after 10pm will not be eligible for a refund. Children under 12 are fee exempt. Minimum 4, Maximum 8 Guests

We can recommend the tapas and the salads. Forget about desserts. We ordered several tapas with intent on sharing them, but were not given utensils to allow sharing. Desserts came with a teaspoon, when a knife and fork was necessary.

We have been coming to Basso Restaurant since it opened in Norwalk on Rt. 123 and have always had very good food and good service. Sat. was disappointing - I called ahead and asked for a quiet table -we were offered a choice of 2 - once next to the crowded bar or a small high top in the corner which barely had enough room for 2 dinner plates and was right on top of another table. I asked the waitress if the Cavatelli al Forno Quattro was spicey and was told no. Our entrees arrived and I couldn't eat the Cavatelli as it was too spicey, so I ended up trading plates with my husband who really wanted the Cavatelli Chicken Scarpariello. This was a disappointing Father's Day celebration.

Outdoor seating could have been more comfortable with higher quality chairs, but it was pretty good. The food was very expensive, but solid. The drinks, especially the sangria, looked very good.

Great menu and perfect location. The outside dining was real nice. As it is in street level, the occasional louder car exhaust was noticeable. Service was friendly and attentive.

Owner was very nice. Waitstaff seemed very new but got the job done and was attentive. We had the halibut and the ribeye, we both weren’t blown away by either dish but enjoyed them. Drinks were both really good and the setting is cozy but charming. If I went back I’d probably go for a cheaper dish to get more value out of evening.

Exceptional experience with good friends. The tapas was exquisite, the paella was almost perfect. The ambience at the idyllic bar was worth a visit. Looking forward to another visit soon.
