Basso by PXK offers a contemporary Italian dining experience with a deep respect for tradition. Located in the heart of Chappaqua at 11 King Street, the restaurant is now under the culinary direction of Chef Peter X. Kelly.

Inspired by his extensive travels throughout Italy, from the Michelin-starred kitchens of Milan to the rustic trattorias of Tuscany, Chef Kelly brings a modern perspective to classic Italian dishes. He emphasizes the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local farms and artisan producers within the Hudson Valley.     Lovely ambience. Excellent service. The wait staff is pleasant and very attentive. Each dish was better than the last. My husband and I shared the Caesar salad which was crispy and one of the best I’ve had in a restaurant in a while. I’m a very good fish cook and their Bronzino entree was cooked to perfection. I also love broccoli rabe and their’s was a delight to my palate. My husband had the chicken parmigiana with pasta and loved it. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée. While it was very good, I found the crème a bit heavy. I would have liked it to have been much lighter. Overall, we had a wonderful belated Valentine’s Day dinner.

    Smart move bringing chef Peter Kelly into Basso. He has a strong following and is a wizard in the kitchen! Valentines Day dinner was amazing!

    We don't usually do Valentine's Day dinner but we are longtime fans of Chef Peter Kelly's culinary skills, innovative menus, great cocktails, and fabulous service, and had been to Basso 56 before but have been wanting to try Chef Kelly's new location. So this seemed like a great excuse to check it and it did NOT disappoint. Great wine list, exciting cocktail menu, awesome service, and amazing and innovative menu but yet able to accommodate 2 dietary restrictions in our party of 4 without a problem or hesitation. And Chef Kelly made the rounds in the dining room twice during our meal and was as friendly and gracious as always. Sorry no pictures but everything was presented beautifully and absolutely delicious. Salads were fresh and light, grilled octopus was terrific, shrimp with truffle special appetizer was outstanding, branzino was cooked perfectly, all the pastas are made in-house and delicious, and while not on the menu, they made a cacio e pepe for one of our guests who had a dietary need and it was outstanding, especially since it was a very busy night. We will definitely be back soon!

    We shared the lasagna special and the warm shrimp salad as appetizers. Both were delicious. As always the service is outstanding.

    Very disappointed in the quality d the main courses. My Short rib special should have been fork tender but was tough and chewy. Polenta side dish was salty. My husband’s veal dish should have been better prepared…what was with the brown sauce! Salad was fine and chocolate torte dessert was excellent. Will think twice before returning….especially as the noise level made it impossible to have a conversation without screaming! Not the Peter Kelly experience we fondly remember from X20 or Bully Boy restaurants.

    Fantastic meal, the service was great and the food was delicious. Peter Kelly, the chef stopped by the table…..such a nice touch! Our waitress was so nice. Will be returning
