Now located in Chappaqua, Weschester County NY, Basso56 serves freshly prepared Italian fare with a subtle modern twist. Homemade maccheroni alla chitarra with lamb ragu sauce, seafood risotto, vealchop alla milanese and organic grilled salmon covered in a roasted pepper puree make for satisfying entrées. This restaurant is excellent! The service is wonderful & the food is delicious. It has a beautiful atmosphere inside & outside. I highly recommend Basso56!

In my opinion the overall best Italian restaurant in Westchester. The experience of service, setting, food and location is all excellent.

vey warm welcome. Spacious and well appointed dining room. excellent artichoke/zucchini appetizer. excellent pasta dishes. lively vibe. attentive and very pleasant service. well priced and varied wine list.

Beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere. The food was fabulous and deserts delightful. The owner, Sam, came by several times to make sure our experience was excellent. I eagerly await our next visit. Dr. Douglas

Our second time here this month and just as good as the first. We had the excellent grilled calamari again and we both had two of the fish entrees. Both cooked perfectly and accompanied by very good sides. Our server was very professional, attentive and friendly just adding to the experience.

We were there for dinner . Everything was top notch. All of our meals were delicious The server cared about our needs . The ambiance was very nice . We will definitely be back soon

We've been to Basso several times; it has always been a lovely meal. However, things seem to have gone downhill since the last time we were there. Our dinner order was wrong; my husband ordered the special fish and the branzino was delivered. But they were very apologetic and my husband decided to keep the branzino. It was OK, but nothing special. I ordered the special, roasted striped bass, and it was tasteless. I never salt my food and had to add salt and pepper to get any taste at all. Very disappointing. They did send us each a glass of lovely wine to compensate for the mistaken order. But the meal was lackluster.

We’ve been there several times and it seems the new owners have not maintained the quality from before. The house wine was not good and was warm. Returned one glass and the second was a bit better. The ravioli was tasteless and other dishes were also dissapointing. Won’t go back until a hear good things from friends.
