Here at Basset Down, we’re proud to offer excellent service in a location like no other. Based in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, we’re a family run destination for everyone to visit, for occasions large and small.

Our experienced head chef has now taken centre stage in our new restaurant, which is now open to the public throughout the week. It's modern design and informal atmosphere is complimented by seasonal menus with locally sourced produce. Perfect if you’re looking for an ideal spot for lunch with friends, a day out, celebrating a special occasion or swinging by for a quick drink. We also have a selection of homemade cakes, snacks and hot/cold drinks available throughout the day.

Excellent choice of food on menu, cooked to perfection with delicious flavours and reasonably priced. Friendly service with the right time to serve in between courses. Good ambience and beautiful views

Booking process easy. Food and service excellent. Staff attentive and friendly. Dining seats v comfortable. Good view of course while eating.

Seated quickly, food excellent and was pleased to see main courses could be in ‘small size’. Only problem was the wait for dessert as somehow the chef had overlooked order. However staff friendly and efficient otherwise.

Food and service were both excellent. The view from the golf club is stunning. This is one of the best places to eat out in the Swindon area, in my opinion.

We had an excellent Father's Day meal for 8 people yesterday. The staff were very polite and service was great. The food was delicious and although it was a very busy day for them we were well looked after. Would highly recommend eating here!

The food was nice but the service was so slow. My children had to wait 1.5 hours before getting anything to eat.

Went for Fathers day lunch, we all went for the Treacle cured beef, wow was amazing, as was the Treacle Tart with Miso ice ream. Staff were fantastic as always, nothing too much trouble. Love the venue, bright and modern with a fantastic outlook over the course and surrounding area. Will be back , many times 😊
