   We were greeted promptly by our waiter. We had a special request for dinner offerings as gluten-free as possible for my wife and the waiter was on top of that helping my wife with her selections. Cocktails and bread promptly served. I had the Prix Fixe 3 course dinner with soup, Prime Rib, and cheesecake - all excellent. My wife’s dinner also great with the bonus of their gluten-free Crème Brûlée! A great evening!

   We sat outside, under a cover patio. This was nice. They’ve done a good job trying to make the alley a nice ambience. My entire family ordered the prefix menu (soup or salad, fish or prime rib, cheese cake or chocolate cake). Plus, we ordered a bao bun appetizer. Food quality was as good as you’d expect for the price. Potatoes were supposed to be pomme puree (per the menu) but was standard mashed potatoes with skins (not bad, just not what I’d expect for pomme puree). Best parts of the meal were the bao bun appetizer and the chocolate cake dessert.

   We spent 9 days in Waikiki, and this was by far my favorite meal!

   The Black Miso Cos was perfect. We were outside and the street noise was expected but we felt the music was too loud. I didn't like the ambiance of the restaurant at all. It is a fine dining menu and yet you sit at bare tables in plastic chairs. Meh.

   注文した料理が一度に全部出てきてメインの料理を食べた時に既に冷めていて残念でした。通常はスープや前菜を食べ終わる頃にキッチンにオーダーをかけるはずですが、特に混雑していた訳ではなさそうでしたがオペレーションが良くないと感じました。お料理そのものは美味しかったです。

   I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the Prime Rib was—cooked perfectly and full of flavor. But the real standout? The Lilikoi Crème Brûlée—absolutely a must-try! The service was pleasant, and while the prices are on the higher side, that’s expected in Hawaii. The only downside is the noise level, especially outside, where there’s a constant hum from hotel equipment or trucks. It’s noticeable but tolerable. Overall, a great dining experience!

   Absolutely enjoyed our time here at one of Our two All time favorite eateries. Born and raised here on Oahu and out of All the Amazing, Delicious Food here in Hawaii....Basalt and Charthouse Never disappoints. Mahalo to the Entire Staff at Both Restraunts. Will definitly be making the drive from the Eastside to Enjoy ourselves for days of relaxation and Great Food.

    The Basalt Pancakes! DO NOT MISS! The guava sauce, the mixed berries and the Basalt whipped cream...so ono! One of my and my friends favorite places. Free 3 hour parking at the Hyatt Centric too.
