Experience the Chef's tasting menu. Omakase literally translates to "I leave it up to you". Our monthly dinner series where the chef team curates a menu around the what's new, seasonal, and exciting to the chef. These dinners will have a mix of both raw and cooked items and a variety of ingredients. Please allow 2 hours for this dinning experience. All the food was excellent, as was the service. The lobster shooters are divine! The street corn ribs are insanely delicious

Great food and even better service. Brussel Spouts tasted heavenly. Thought it was hard to hear around our table but everyone is obviously enjoying.

Horrible experience. I was there with 6 friends to celebrate my birthday (which I said so in the reservation notes) and they didn’t acknowledge (even when we were opening presents. Sushi came out 20 minutes before the hot food did and no one would tell us what was taking so long. Note: this is a Tuesday night and it was completely empty. We had to actively flag down our waitress to get simple things like refills and the manager seemed clueless when we asked where the food was. They also messed up our order and when we asked for it to be fixed there was no apologies from the manager, just “I have no excuse for that”. The bills took forever to come out once we were done eating and that was because the waitress “didn’t want to interrupt our thing” (opening gifts to kill time). Our dinner was at 7:30pm and we didn’t get out until 10pm. It’s one thing to had bad service, but having to actively track down food and drinks during your birthday dinner with no apologies? Ruined my night.

Sushi less than impressive. Whatever you do, do not order the Negroni, the old fashion was acceptable. Server seemed annoyed that everybody sends the Negroni back. We also sent a sushi roll back (the rodeo?). It was bland and had zero flavor, which I have rarely experienced eating sushi. The scallops were delicious, but the soba noodles left much to be desired as far as taste is concerned. No Yum Yum sauce no soy sauce on the table and we had to ask for wasabi and ginger with our sushi. The lobster shooter was the best thing I had all night. I might go back and try and give the sushi another go.

Baru is a great sushi restaurant in downtown Cincinnati. They have excellent choices, the fish is fresh and the combinations they come up with are really good. It's become our favorite sushi in town. Plus, there's 50% off rolls and wine bottles on Mondays. Jordan has been our waiter a few times, and he is a FABULOUS young man, so personable and friendly.

We were seated and no one acknowledged us for over 20 mins - no waters, nothing. We finally went up to the hostess station and told them. They got someone to help us and we ordered immediately when she came over and it was another 25-30 mins before our Sushi landed on the table. We like Baru, the food is great, but we could not hear each other talk because the music was SO loud. We will try it again, but their ambiance speaks to a moody lounge where it welcomes good conversation but with the blaring music, it’s quite the opposite.
